IMHO yes we've had a couple of rousing performances but you can count them on 1 hand, the rest has been average, dross, embarrassing even abject. We've scraped a few good wins that have flattered to deceive but more than often we've been unexciting. There doesn't seem to be much fight in the team nor much passion and far too often we've raised the white flag. £40m + spent and we've not gone 1 inch forward in the quality of football on offer this season. At the moment we are looking and playing like an injured dog that need to be put out of its misery. There needs to be a big shake up for next season or we could be struggling if that happens how long before Hughes' position is under threat the supporters start to call for his head and our better players start looking for another club? Its so fucking frustrating because we have the personnel to do something great and play exciting football at the same time, some of the best players we've ever had in the last 40 years but sometimes they look like they've never kicked a ball together. Gouranga.

I totally agree with your last sentence there. Maybe next season. Let's hope so, hey.

Not our worst Prem season ever but worst one under Hughes. We started shit with no wins in our opening 6 games but were all fairly calm in the knowledge that under Hughes we pick up momentum as the season progresses. We played decent in patches around December time and then gone right off the boil - disappointed

Pulis' last was hands down the worst, although this is the most frustrating.

Not about being "worse" in points or position terms as such but I have to agree with Albert that this has been the least enjoyable Prem season so far for me - home form abysmal on the whole and Christ only knows where we would have been without Butlands saves and Ryan's purple patch around Christmas when he was awesome......
Next season cannot come quickly enough for me......

I think worst is taking things a bit too far.
Most frustrating season in the Premier League would be a fairer thing to say.

Not the worst but considering the players we have they are the most underachieving set when you consider their pedigree . The team that got to the Cup final had a lot more about it than this bunch even if they did not have the ability

Gouranga. Explain how the last Pulis season, in which we were one of the lowest scoring teams in all four divisions, won once in four months after Boxing Day, and looked at one point like genuine relegation contenders, was better than this season, which for all its baffling decisions and disappointments has yielded a cup semi final, defeats of Chelsea and both Manchester clubs (including the victory over Citeh which is arguably the best we've played since promotion) and may yet yield another top 10 finish?

Our home performances have been absolutely awful - the 2 manc clubs at home, top stuff, the chelsea game, decent...I can't recall any others of the top of my head that were memorable and I haven't missed one this season. West Brom Watford Swansea Everton Southampton Liverpool Crystal Palace The basics needs to be sorted, every one of these teams we should be beating at home - otherwise what's the point in going to Everton, Swansea, Southampton, Watford, Bournemouth and putting in great performances if we're just going to tear those building blocks down with our home form, we'll never progress! The season would've looked a whole lot better if we'd have made it to Wembley, but it seems like it's been a season of what if's and almosts. Every time we seem to find a good run of form, we throw it away. Our goal difference needs looking at, badly, its horrific. It does reflect the way we've been playing - when we've been great we've put a couple in but not really smashed a team this season. When we've been poor we've been demolished : 3-0 at Leicester, 3-0 at Man Utd, 3-0 vs Everton, 4-1 vs Lpool, 4-0 vs Spurs......it's a massive problem, and things need to be looked at in the summer, at the moment, I struggle to see what better we'll do next year without some real changes. Sorry

A team of talented individuals that have rarely shown any bottle, fight or passion, a manager that thinks that keeping possession in front of your own 18yard box slowing the game down and giving it away just before the opposition penalty area whilst playing 2 wingers that can't/wont/aren't allowed to run with the ball and cross it, is what we all want to watch We come on here and bemoan the demise of the bear pit atmosphere but apart from a few games at the Brit what have we had to cheer about? For me it's been quite dross and with a handful of exceptions very little to get excited over, quite often a big anti climax. Gouranga.

Apart from that run over November and December, and our away form, it's been very underwhelming.
We've also taken quite a few hidings this season- the trilogy of 0-3s and 8 goals conceded in our last two.
The season can't end soon enough for me. God knows what Man City will do to us.

I'd rather watch this season replayed in a continuous loop for all eternity, with occasional breaks for the Go Compare advert and a nice cup of magma, than a single repeat of Pulis's last year in charge.

Two pinnacle moments since the turn of the year have led the players to down tools in my eyes.
We have not fully recovered from the penalty defeat to Liverpool but despite that we managed to put a decent run of results together which gave us a shot at Europe. We played really well for 65 minutes at home to Swansea but the capitulation in the remaining 25 minutes meant that was season over. We no longer had anything to play for and the players look to have downed tools.
In a season where we should've been looking at 60 points, we'll be lucky to even beat last years total now.

I agree with Albert on this. It is the worst season. 9th flatters us, especially in a season where no teams have excelled. Any other year playing as bad as we have we'd have been relegation fodder. Luckily for us others are even worse than us. I really feel for the season ticket holders that have had to endure so many piss poor performances. Last week even after the Liverpool defeat my glass was half full. After last night it is well and truly empty and starting to go a bit moldy

Worst season? Hell no.
Worst home record in a season? Maybe. 7 wins is the same we had in 2009-2010, 2011-2012, and 2012-2013.

We're not alone. Palace were pushing for promotion earlier in the season's - they are now likely to finish just above the bottom group. Get a grip.

Disappointing perhaps because we have ended up with a squad bereft of pace and power.
Still, the summer provides the chance to sort that out.
I would agree, apart from a few games the football hasn't been good, certainly nothing like the end of last season

What's really disappointing is that in a season in which we should have been pushing for the mythical next level we were, in general, completely clueless - no consistency, no clear game plan, no idea who our center forward is or should be, switching formations from false 9s to God knows what else ... I am beginning to doubt Hughes ability to take us forward as the football has gone from horrible Hoofball to tipi tapa sideways and backwards passes with no real push going forward which is not going to take us anywhere

If ever we had the chance of getting top 6 or even better it was this season, none of the established big guns have really excelled, only a few weeks ago we could have drawn level with Man U and really pushed, ok, we have been blighted with injuries but we built up a head of steam then just ran out of ideas...
