The People have actually stuck the Arnie-PSG 'exclusive' on their back page.
They've certainly gone all in on it.
PSG have spoken with the player’s representatives and made an initial approach to Stoke, with Britannia Stadium bigwigs rebuffing their advances. They are planning a £7.5million-plus offer this week which they hope will at least bring them to the negotiating table. Arnautovic hopes to meet with boss Mark Hughes and the rest of the club’s transfer decision makers early this week to see where the land lies. PSG will give the player and his club until a week tomorrow to decide whether or not a move could happen to allow themselves enough time to look elsewhere if not.

Suppose every potential negotiation is different depending on the attitude of the player and the team around them.
Wouldn't be a massive shock if Team Arnie were very much on the N'Zonzi side of the spectrum. 18 months on his deal means we at least hold some cards, but fewer and fewer as the months march on...
He's coming up to 27 and will want to spend the peak years of his career on a bigger stage. Just can't see him re-signing here with the sniff of big club interest in the air.
And, as with N'Zonzi, hard to know what the 'small' team can do in that situation, especially with a player with a history of sulkiness.
If there's anything in it, wonder whether we would be tempted to do something at, say, £10m+?

We'll be in no rush to sell any player. If one does go it'll be of their own wish, not ours - barring a ridiculously high offer maybe...

When you here of some of the crazy Money being paid for some quite ordinary players we would be stupid to let Arnie go for 7.5--10 mil.
If it is going to happen we should be looking for big money. If he wants to stay and extend his contract great by me.

AND -IF THEY DO PROBABLY MY LAST SEASON AS A SEASON TICKET HOLDER What a stupid comment. If and it's a big IF we let Arnie go (because he wanted to go) I'm sure the club would go all out for a replacement - Yarmelenko anyone? In my opinion would potentially be an upgrade on Arnie. Players will come and go but we are now able to fish in the big player pond. Enjoy the ride and stop being pathetic Up the potters!

I honestly believe that, if Arnie should go to a big club, he would falter and flop like he has at his previous clubs. Hughes and Stoke suits him and being part of BMX suits him. Their chemistry is unique.

Lighten up Lightwood just think Tony is a bit upset (the capitals give it away), which was my immediate reaction when I heard them talking on the radio late last night about potential interest in both Bojan and Arnie. Never liked the January transfer window (needs to be abolished in my opinion). I will be more than happy when it closes and we still have our three musketeers up front! UTP!!!

If Scholes lets Arnautovic go to PSG for anything less than £20million then he should resign. And Coates should sell the club.
How many more players are SCFC going to give away?

We need him to be in our starting 11 This needs managing very carefully. A good win, a chance to play in a final may keep him here until the end of the season

It's the way of the world and there is absolutely nothing anyone can do about it. 25 million for a player in the final throes of his contract? For God's sake get real. We'll be lucky to get 8.

I honestly believe that, if Arnie should go to a big club, he would falter and flop like he has at his previous clubs. Hughes and Stoke suits him and being part of BMX suits him. Their chemistry is unique. I agree with this and hope that all four - BMX + MLH also realize it - they all have a history of choosing the wrong path and have rescued themselves at Stoke - but how strong is their resolve when the PSG's and Man U's come calling with contracts worth millions and guarantees of Champions League? It's a tough call. What really worries me is that if any one of these four departs, this new strength we have, and the as yet unrealized potential, will falter, and maybe one of the others will depart too. We have moved up a class in the last 2 years, but it is so easy to lose it again. So although I love our BMX trio, if there were a way to secure the services of just one for the next 5 years it would be the general - MLH.

Until the club come out publicly and say piss off not a chance now or in the summer, or 25m and that's for sidwell, we'll always be looked at as easy picking, tin pot, small time, and not ambitious.

Until the powers that be move into the real world then the litany of players being under valued will continue. You only have to look at the stadium to see the club lack ambition.

This is deja vu all over again. Very reminiscent of last spring when everyone was concerned about losing our best players. Did we miss Begovic? NO! Did we miss N'zonzi? NO! (at least I didn't particularly). Why? because their replacements were BETTER. So it all comes down to the back up plan and what they intend to do with the money.
EDIT. Here's my assessment:
Begovic: Out N'zonzi: Out Shaquiri: in Johnson: In Affelay: In Van Ginkel: In Joselu: In Bojan: Fully recovered
Pretty good transfer window.
Every cloud and all that.

AND -IF THEY DO PROBABLY MY LAST SEASON AS A SEASON TICKET HOLDER So let's get this right Tony You slaughter fans who leave early yet stated you " couldn't be arsed " to attend the Sheffield Wednesday cup tie ? You also are continuing a constant barrage knocking Stoke On Trent people and the football club of having no ambition or foresight but are threatening not to renew your season ticket ( hence an empty seat ) if we sell a player who may not want to sign a new contract and risk losing him for NOTHING next summer I'm bloody confused sat here
