Listened to the new album today and it's a triumph.
Like somebody said in an earlier post, it's the most New Order, New Order album in a long time.
Going to see them at Warehouse Project on December 6th and I can't bloody wait!

They're not missing Hooky much are they, on the strength of this?

Only see them at festival no.6 and they were bangin that night. The state we plan on being in for this though it won't matter how they perform!

Got the new album on right now and it's tremendous. Best for 25 years easy. Certainly the best since Technique, popular opinion suggests. Personally I loved Republic for personal reasons - some of the songs on there are great. But Music Complete is storming from Restless through to Superheated.

Tom Chapman has certainly stepped up to the plate - the bassline on People On The High Line is pure Bernard Edwards: I'm off to see them in Berlin next month - conna bloody wait!

Saw NO for the first time at Jodrell Bank in summer 2013. The setting was superb and Barney delivered that night definitely. A red hot July day, Public Service Broadcasting and Johnny Marr on the bill as well which was a bonus for me.
New Order are doing a live set on BBC 6 Music next week on Lauren Laverne's show for those who didn't know. Usually they put these on the BBC red button as well not long after. Be interesting to see how they sound now.

Still not fully convinced by the new album, not offensive, I wouldn't switch it off if it came on the radio or owt. Not enough growl for my liking.
Another Factory thing with a spanking bass from '85 or so. Remindesd me of it listening to the 'People in the High line' NO track.

New Order. Live. Reading Festival 1998. One of my all time favourite gigs! Not sure which was the best reading performance? I managed to get to 89/93/98 I think just by a short distance 93.... Remember all the fans disappearing after new orders set leaving Garbage( who were headlining ) to play to one man and his dog!!!

I know it was a pretty dark time for the group, but I loved that whole 1993-1995 Republic era stuff. Ruined in a day is one of my favourite songs by N.O.

On holiday at the mo and been listening to New Order non stop. There is a hell of a lot of filler on all their records but the killer tracks just knock you out.

It's definitely a landmark album in New Order's seminal history. Up there with "Low Life", "Power, Corruption & Lies", "Substance", "Technique" and (for me) "Republic".
Although I note I've pretty much named all their albums there.

Always liked New Order but not in a fanatic fan way but was persuaded by the good reviews to get this album and am so glad I did. It really is a tremendous piece of work mixing technique keyboards with Guitars heard on Crystal. Go get it , you won't be disappointed.
Also go get the latest Charlatans album as well, it's a grower and one of their best

Anybody remember the film "The Crow"?
Nine Inch Nails vs Joy Division.
"Someone take these dreams away, That point me to another day, A duel of personalities, That stretch all true realities.
That keep calling me, They keep calling me, Keep on calling me, They keep calling me.
Where figures from the past stand tall, And mocking voices ring the halls. Imperialistic house of prayer, Conquistadors who took their share.
They keep calling me, They keep calling me, Keep on calling me."

Don't remember it from the Crow but it's locked straight into a scratchy groove and in the cerebellum. But like the majority of JD album track titles I'd need three guesses to get anywhere near the title. I know all the catchy ones. No........ can't get it. Interzone?
Edit: I'll have to have a peek, in me head it sounds like what should have been the last track on Bowie's 'Low'.

Barney looks like Fred Dibner, Steve looks like John Shuttleworth & the woman looks like a dinner lady. Have to say, they sound fresher without Hookey! Yes. It must be gutting for Hooky (not to mention making him increasingly liakely to implode at the bitterness and frustration of it all) that New Order have moved on without him quite successfully. After all, it was he who left New Order, not the other way around. I fail to see why Hooky thinks New Order should stop just because he left.

Curtis & Barrett, then Hook & Waters both leaving in a massive huff...
