Dave Wright (head of the academy isn't he?) has been sacked/will be leaving by mutual consent. Where's that from mate? Was he one of Hughes' men?

Apologies, couldn't get the instagram link but it looks like we have a new U18 recruit: Isn't that Abdallah, the striker we've had for a while, but only on a short term deal I think - I guess he impressed enough to be offered a longer contract? Mohamed Diallo ex Arsenal.

Nah Abdallah is much bigger. Guy on twitter narrowed it down to a striker that's been on trial at Southampton recently?

I just hope the next bloke has nothing to do with Hughes.
The Man City youth Twitter is scathing about Hughes and his staff when it comes to the academy.

He doesn't know his best team. His substitutions are crap. He doesn't spend money well. His training methods need modernising. He's shit with the academy. This mark Hughes fella doesn't seem to have many redeeming qualities does he?

He got the job by default if I recall because someone else left?
Seems he's had his chance and we haven't progressed suitably enough.
All this chopping and changing can't be good on some level, we need consistent structure/message right throughout the club

How many do we sign before one gets some first team minutes?

I think 5 years is pretty good for an academy manager, not too many get the gold watch!

Worth mentioning Verlinden and Silva won their opening games at the U17 Euro 2016 tournament.

The u19's have just won the first game of their tournament 6-0. Not bad for 20 minutes each way.

The lack of players breaking through this last 20 years has been scandalous. Very poor.
