Sterling gets better and better everytime I see him play.
He'll hopefully make a move to a bigger club than Liverpool, massive disrespect intended.

Never turn up at tournaments though. I don't disagree, but we are football fans and English ones to boot,so we have no choice in who we support just like the reasons why we support Stoke. It's just the in thing on here and fashionable to slate our national team and it's players, and some of the stuff that gets written on here is fucking embarrassing and mostly borne of the fact that Shawcross doesn't get picked regularly. I don't rate Hodgson as a coach and think he should have lost his job after the World Cup but it won't stop me from ever wanting England to beat every team we come up against. England will cruise this group, then get to the euros and repeat what they did in Brazil same old.

Nearly as wank as some of the attitudes towards them on here. That was nothing other than a great win when you put it into context. What planet have you been on for the past few years?! Are you England band in disguise?! One win against a country the size of Wales with a population less than London and it's a great win! I know you can only play against whoever is in front of you but be serious. No not at all. We are what we are,and that is in the second tier of international sides regarding quality. So tonight's win was a good one, especially coming off the back of the abortion of a World Cup and last weeks bore fest at Wembley.

That's more like the England we know and love. How well did the lad Stones do? He looked like he had played at this level for 10 years. He's just a young lad. Our goal was straight out of the Premier League handbook, which is what we should be doing to teams more often. There is a place for Ryan in there at the back but it helped that Shaqiri wasn't very interested tonight. I thought Stones was shocking to be honest. He's a centre back playing at full back and (as is the case with a lot of cb's at full back) it doesn't suit him. Drifted inside far too much when he was defending and stood far too far off his man. I saw a lot of things which made me optimistic tonight - but Stones at right back was not one of them. Nor was Wilshere in midfield.

I guess I'm looking at it from the view of the media and commentators with the tinted glasses on. We won but we hardly smashed them. The scoreline flatters us but some people even on here need to stop wanking over us beating Switzerland. The word is perspective.

Here we go...expect the usual jizz fest, England qualifying with relative ease and then being cut to ribbons at the finals. It was ever thus. It could have been worse, Huddy: Delph should have been sent off in the first half! Decent win, but you are right about the jizz fest.

What would you call Welbeck, you know, the bloke that got both goals? Welbeck is a shit striker, he may have got 2 goals but he is still shit. Mid table prem team player that is it. Think he'll prove quite a few people wrong this season, not worth (yet) the apparent 18mil Arsenal paid but still seems very underrated.

I dont know why you are bothering mate - some people on here are only happy when they have something to moan about! Good result tonight. Deary me. its true though isnt it? People keep saying what a poor team we are - and we are a poor team - and we have just won away at the top seeds in our group, who are higher in the FIFA rankings than us, without letting a goal in. In that context its a good result. We arent going to win anything though.

Bet the Arse fans are now wanking themselves silly over Welbeck Sadly, Danny Welbeck is a good signing for Arsenal and will do very well for them. In my opinion, he has been England's best player for a couple of years or more. He's a better player than Rooney and if not better, certainly more effective. Good result tonight but put it into perspective...any run of the mill Championship side (even a good league 1 side) could get out of this group England are in.

We were time wasting that much that we broke away and scored a second on the counter. It was a good away performance when you sit down and look at our team and how young and inexperienced they are. Pick fault with things that deserve to be criticised but you are seriously clutching at straws and making yourself look like you know fuck all about football mate. So once you time waste then you can't break away? I didn't say they sat in the corner since the goal. But the fact we got booked for it proves my point. I'm sorry i don't have your incredible knowledge. Just wait til we play a decent team. We did tonght ![:-S](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/kdD1n42dnzYd3v59eUB_.gif)

Those Arsenal press boys get everywhere.....
Matt Hughes ?@matthughestimes Player ratings: top marks of 8 for Welbeck, Sterling, Roo & Wilshere, 7 for Cahill, Hart & Baines, 6 for Stones, Hend & Delph, 5 for Jones.
John Cross ?@johncrossmirror Milner on for Wilshere. Wilshere was excellent. Very difficult to separate him and Rooney. I think they have been England's best players.

I'm not saying he is the next Gary Neville but he wasn't the worst player on the pitch by a long shot. He was a little bit naive when passing forward but his overall defensive performance for me was very good given his limited experience. In fact, even though we should always beat the likes of Switzerland, I enjoyed the whole game and thought it was a good watch. I get the same kick out of watching England as I do with Stoke though.
