I have never felt as Pessimistic about an England game as this. I think we'll be lucky to score and a point would be a bonus. I'm expecting to be embarrassed for England on Monday and if we get beat by three goals will the F.A. grow balls and sack the manager?

If we get beaten Roy's position will be close to untenable. Losing Sturridge is a blow

Strange isn't it.
I don't think we will lose but to be honest even if we did we've been handed a group so benign it would be almost humanly impossible not to qualify.
Estonia, Lithuania, San Marino, Slovenia, Switzerland must amount to the most feeble opposition you will ever see.
Oh, I didn't even mention that the top 2 qualify as of right and 3rd place will also do it in the majority of groups.
England are going through like it or not and Mr. Hodgson will have his day in the sun.

I'm always embarrassed of England so not much will change there regardless of the score.

Thing is though it's quite accepted the new daft format of 24 teams means we will qualify. Given it's a straight forward group if we make hard work of it Roy could be in trouble.

What the point of the F. A sacking woy they will just put another yes man in charge and nothing will change. The F. A needs changing aswell too many sycophants lapping at the top 6's nipples

Come on you .....cuckoo clocker, choco watchmaking yodellers. Give your former manager a thrashing and help to put English fans out of the misery of mundane, unimaginative boring and generally losing style of football that this twonk has given us.

The Swiss like dull mediocrity, it seems. Indeed, they have one of the most efficient public transport networks in the world, which more than backs up your claim.

Excuse my ignorance, if I'm wrong, but it doesn't matter if we lose as we'll be seeded for the actual competition? I'm sure where you finish in the group does not determine your seeding for the actual competition?
I just don't get this building for the future with a 67 year old. Next England manager Stuart Pearce! Roy's just keeping the seat warm for him.

A Monday evening kick off - which idiot thought that up? I think they've changed it this year, so that some qualifier games and friendlies are played earlier on in the week, which allows players to get back to their clubs quicker and more time to train before a game at the weekend.

What was wrong with today? Yeah fair point, probably thought it was too soon after the Norway game or something.

There are games spread over 3 or 4 days. Nothing to do with players getting back earlier I don't think. It's so UEFA have a game on tv for most nights of the international breaks. All about the £££££££.

It's definitely from UEFA and to make money! "This is the first qualifying tournament after UEFA announced centralised rights deals for both UEFA Euro and FIFA World Cup qualifying. UEFA has proposed the "Week of Football" concept for the scheduling of qualifying matches:[10] Matches take place from Thursday to Tuesday. Kick-off times are largely set at 18:00 and 20:45 CET on Saturdays and Sundays, and 20:45 CET on Thursdays, Fridays, Mondays and Tuesdays. On double-header matchweeks, teams play on Thursday and Sunday, or Friday and Monday, or Saturday and Tuesday. Matches in the same group are played on the same day.[9] There are ten matchdays for the group stage, and two matchdays for the play-offs" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Euro_2016_qualifying

That's weird, because while I'm struggling to draw up the enthusiasm to be interested in watching England, I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really can't summon up even the faintest interest in any other international side, save for checking up on how any Stoke players performed afterwards.

This is our toughest game against a strong Swiss side who were unlucky v Argentina in Brazil
A point would be an excellent result but a heavy defeat could see the screws being tightened regards Hodgson with even the media starting to turn against him
C'mon England
