Fernandez (coach Deportivo): "I talked with Bojan because we get along well. I like him a lot, he'd perfectly fit the profile we look for."

barcastuff ?@barcastuff 1m Although Stoke offer him more, Deportivo are optimistic about signing Bojan after coach called him. Barcelona let Bojan decide freely. [vdg]

I think Deportivo are trying to be cute and make out he prefers them when in actual fact they haven't got a pot to piss in and they're likely to struggle next season.
We fly him in, give him the red carpet treatment, they call his mobile.
I'm still hopeful.

Footballers these days follow the money - if Bojan is the archetypal modern footballer, once he sees that Deportivo have not the proverbial vessel in which to urinate, he will run back to Stoke as fast as his little legs can carry him, biro in hand.

I would just like to say, all these years I've been moaning about modern day footballers only being interested in following the money, I got it wrong.
If you've got a choice between, say, a glamorous Spanish club who hasn't got a pot to piss in, and a mid-table Premier League club bank-rolled by a multi-million pound betting operation, you'd be an unambitious fool if you weren't straight onto the Keates Hulme website to check out house prices in the Trentham area.
* Though obviously I'm not withdrawing any of my remarks about Graham Kavanagh or Wayne Biggins.

It's nice now we are the potential beneficiaries of this mindset though, I guess.

@barcastuff is just a fan, it would be like me opening a twiiter account under @stokestuff. He announced a deal for Roger Riera 15 minuted ago when Riera himself had already announced it 3 hours ago.
There is not a chance he has any clue what so ever about Bojan.

Yeah I was one of those moaning about him, even more so when Thorne joined him, then thanking him when we beat them in the play-offs, who'd have known it would help us

Thought it was Sheron that was forced out to make up the cash for the Brit, seem to remember Kav boasting about going to a bigger club.

Wasn't it Moxey's style to paint the departing hero as a turncoat? I noticed something eerily similar happened at Wolves when they sold a few stars after getting relegated from the Prem (including Kightly).

Kav just said things to make Cardiff fans take to him, which angered us but came out after his playing career finished that he'd been forced out & made out he wanted go.
