Forecast is for winds to reach 36mph this evening Anyone know the wind speed when our game v West Brom was called off? South West Wind to hit West stand (and away support) Don't know if it's on or not but, if it's a South West wind it's blowing from the South West so, it'll be those of us in the Seddon and Boothen who will get it.

People are going to die on the roads today in this weather. I honestly think that all games should be called off. Why put people at risk traveling to a football game?

Having been up there this morning, I'm stunned they aren't inspecting.
Stunned. It's everywhere as bit as bad as the WBA game that was cancelled.

Just a refreshing breeze out there with a bit of drizzle. Probably best with a light coat tonight.

The problem with a 'wind inspection' though - is that IF conditions are OK at 3.15pm, it doesn't mean that they will be ok 7-45pm to 10pm and vice versa.
Surely a decision made so early will be based on met office predictions - in that case the game will be off.
Not ideal from a league table perspective, but I would rather the match be postponed and played in acceptable conditions. I want to watch a football match, not a farcical pantomime.

I work in Wilmslow, travel from Stoke everyday. Went out to get something out of my car on my dinner break and the wind is so strong, it was lifting water from puddles on the floor and spraying it into my face. No actual rain, just ridiculously strong wind. It's now raining and is pissing it down... sideways.

There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.

Joking aside it is just a bracing, sunny but windy winters day in Longton right now. It would be reckless for the club to call off the game based on what Michael fricking Fish says might happen in four hours time.

Biddulph - bizarro weather
Left the house 20 mins ago, force 10 gale and heavy rain, went into the shop, came out and it's now a bit gusty but bright sunshine.
People mentioning the WBA game, it was far far worse than this!

SS,agree. You needn't worry about me, however, as common sense has finally prevailed and I'll be at home, though my thoughts will be at The Brit. It is horrendous here and the prospect of my driving alone, for the final part of my journey, at around 1.30.am and being blown off the M25, just did not appeal. In fact I'm not ashamed to admit that I was terrified at the thought. Although we are a mile or so from the overflowing river, in Cobham, present torrential rain is blowing the newly formed lake around our soakaway, towards the garage door and soon to be under it. So there'll be other things to do. Can't complain, however, when so many not too far from here and elsewhere are up to their necks in water and ensuing misery. Enjoy the game, if it's still on and you're going and give the lads a cheer from me and my special thoughts and concern go to those of you who are suffering in these present conditions.
