It's easily construed that it means that an official decision will be made at 3pm by the powers that be, not by the poster regarding whether he's coming to the game or not.

To be honest mate, and this is just my own opinion here and i may stand corrected come kick-off time if the game is postponed but seriously i cannot see it being postponed. Like i've already said in this thread, there was all this worry before the Man Utd cup game and the Everton game regarding high winds and rain and that. The forecasts were very similar to todays and i don't trust forecasts anyway as it's basically guesswork. So using the theory of, if you can't beat 'em then join 'em. I'd guess that the game will not be in any doubt whatsoever.

Be a real shame if it is off. With Man City and Arsenal to follow our position could look even more precarious than it already is in a couple of weeks’ time. If so it would also see the doom and gloom mongers back out in force on here. Would possibly do me a favour as I'm in Aberdeen and missing the game.

I'm expecting it to be off. Been up this morning and could hardly stand up walking across the car park.
The wind has increased a lot since then.

More recovery time for Huth, Arnie (possibly OK for tonight) wilson etc and of course Michu!
Bit of a blow to morale if Palace and Sunderland climb above us in the table however

STOKE CITY have issued advice to supporters travelling to tonight's Barclays Premier League game against Swansea City at the Britannia Stadium. With the met office forecasting heavy rain and strong winds, the Club are urging fans to take extra care as they travel to the stadium. Supporters are also advised to allow extra time for their journey as the inclement weather could cause problems on the road network. I've just had a text saying there will be an inspection at 3.15pm.
I wouldn't be shocked if it was off to be honest, they were on about calling a game off for a tube strike so there's every chance!

Considering how the countries been taking a battering in recent days I can't see em leaving anything to chance. Especially how chaotic they already find organising night matches.

The safety of fans will be the decider here. Considering the met office have issued a red warning for some areas I really can see this one being called off as well as a few other of tonights fixtures.

I'd always instinctively say 'on' as wind postponements are so rare. But I've just been outside and it's several notches above what it was at this stage before the Everton and Utd games. And according to the Met Office, we're only experiencing gusts of 30mph at the moment. Factor in the 'Brit effect' and a predicted doubling in the gusts, and it could be beyond farcical.

Surely if there was a pitch/ground inspection, the club wouldn't have released the above statement and waited until the result of the inspection. To all intent and purposes SCFC are saying the game is on. They, the officials and the teams are aware of the forecasts for later on just like we are, so unless conditions become (much) worse than the forecasts have predicted, then surely it's a goer.

Being 1 of those caught up in the chaos before the utd game I saw 1st hand streams of people diving across the A50, over the flyover and down the roads in pretty bad conditions 10 minutes after kick off, and I'd only travelled from Penkhull!!. The big difference is it was alright in the day, where as now it's pretty bad out there already and forecasted to just get worse. I was out the country when the last game got cancelled so no idea how we're faring now to then ?
