Why would Odemwingie accept a short contract? He still is has a season and a half to run so you'd of thought he'd want at least that then if he is only a short term fix for us we then have another player to take up a wage that we don't want.

If ever anyone needed any proof that Coatesy has pulled the plug on any real finance for the new manager then this has got to be fucking it surely? H One should look further back and think why Pulis got out.

All the signs show he has gone. Anyway, surely even you must be concerned by this transfer policy and what it points to?? I'm not denying that I aren't But given the reckless spending of previous years something had to he done as it could not go on Players never used and aged players who have no resale value given 3-4 year contracts said it was not sustainable This will be a short term contract if it's not then yeah I will share your concerns Other than that it's a good deal Looks like our concerns are shared fella Mark Holmes ?@homzy 2m As feared, I'm told Stoke are discussing a two-and-a-half-year deal with Peter Odemwingie. He'll be 35 at the end of that. TOTAL MADNESS

Homzy saying he's heard it's a 2 and a half year deal!! Barmy. Why clear out the lkes of Edu, Pennant and KJ - then plough millions into a long-term deal for an OAP? If he gives us something this season, great - but he'll be more of a dead weight as he nears the end of the deal than KJ was!

Yes, Pulis wasted a bib or three but which manager hasn't?. £20 million a season seems a pretty good return to me and that's without attending a final along with Europe. Get £25-30 million for Shawcross and Bego and that brings the average down even further. As for Pulis, well one can now see he saw what was unfolding and got out if there.

H Yes, it's really making sense to sack a manager who has previous in managing/improving clubs with little financial clout. 100 million and results on a downward spiral? Little financial clout? Improving? He'd gone as far as he could and as far as Coates's wallet was prepared to let him go. He was sacked. End of story. You are mad as a fucking box of frogs. H

Discussing means taking on his remaining deal. If Cardiff are pushing for it we may offer a smaller wage and get Cardiff to pay him off. Odemwingi on a small wage I could cope with.

If we don't then it's very worrying.

Get rid of Tone fine, I agree with that, he'd run his course at Stoke, but to bring in a new manager with a totally different style of play and not back him is plain stupid and will end in relegation. Odemwingie on a long term contact is the final straw, we have enough crap on long contacts as it is. Six months I could just about stomach. Fuckin hell we may as well have kept Fuller.

The only way this is ok, is if we spend decent money on another striker. If we had decent money to spend we would not be entertaining Odemwinge in the first place.
