I find this kind of thread a bit embarrassing. We love to hold ourselves up as being better than the Arse, ManUre fans etc but as soon as its rumoured a player is off, its all the same old shite. From the sounds of it, weve taken advantage of a clause in a contract (which should be the real big story!!!) and whether you agree with it or not, why cant we have the class to say thanks for your efforts and leave it at that. Usually I would agree with you, but in this case I think the player owe the club more than the club owe him! Was very good for us for almost a season, but again let himself down! Just happy to see him go now! Sorry stopped reading your post at "usually I would agree with you"... ;-) noones ever said that to me before! Barkeep, I will have a cider (poor mans champagne!) :-)

If this is correct we have to ask why he was resigned. Was it a snub to TP with internal politics playing its part?.
Certainly from an outsiders (not an ITK) point of view it was not a made to enhance the strength of our squad.

The trouble is nobody wants to come to stoke, and nobody wants any of our players, couldn't make it up Not sure about first part of sentence but agree the second part

Thanks JP. You made a decent start here and did well for about a season. After that you reverted to type but in reality, we all knew, in our heart of hearts, that you would do. Good luck in the future. Somehow, I think you are going to need it

Shame he didn't leave before he cost us the 2 points against Everton. Or before he won us 2 points against West Ham eh? People already forgetting he scored one of only two winning away goals we scored in 2013. Good luck JP. That's his job. The Everton debacle isn't.

Good. He's a fucking idiot. A manager needs to be able to trust and rely on his players.

The Everton debacle isn't. spot on. The last contribution Jp gave to the cause was hacking repeatedly at an Everton player who was in an innocuous position as if to make sure to give away a last minute penalty and lose us / incredibly previous points. From my part he won't be missed one bit

JPs time and stoke should not be frowned upon and we should thank you for the good times he had with us. There's no questioning in the run up to the fa cup final, in games such as the 3-1 at home to arsenal, he was class. Delivery from set pieces has never been the same since he hasn't played and I think he bit his lip quite well in the last few seasons with delap playing over him on the right.

Pennant was one of my fave players at Stoke but he didn't seem as sharp in the last year or two. One of the best crossers in the league on his day.

Very civilised statement by Pennant and I'd like to thank him for the good times he gave us a couple of years back. We got more out of him than most teams ever managed, and he gave us more back.

Nice noises coming from Alice Goodwin on her Instagram feed last night, confirming that JP's time was up at Stoke, but that they were the best fans ever. Love him or loathe him, JP gave us one helluva ride.

Yep.
Just remember the days guys, Pennant, Etherington, Walters, Jones - all firing on all four cylinders.
.. and a good defence ..

Jumped on stage for the 'Fuckin' Ada' at the end. Perhaps 25 tears ago! As for Jermaine. I wonder what next? I can't imagine he put a wedge of his £20+g a week in an ISA, not sure if he's got business interests outside of the game? He'll have to keep playing I'd guess{unless we paid him up until summer.} Will he find a Club, take a step down? I'm interested to see how it pans out. I wish him well really, even though he's his own worst enemy. Another fresh start squandered, he's not had a sufficient impact at this level for a couple of years. Hindsight hey?
