Mine would be:
Best - Bego, Huth, Etherington, Faye, Beattie and Crouch.
Worst - Collins, Arismendi, Palacios, Kightly, Kitson, Pugh, Sonko, Olyvagina, Soares, and Davies.
Strangest - Edu, Ness, and Shea (WTF)

Worst: Palacios
Strangest: Henri Camara

Michael Owen, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Henri Camara, Stephen Kelly and Michael Tonge deserve honourable mentions as some of the best Not to mention Matthew Lund and Ben Marshall who turned out to be absolutely pointless really. £750k we got for Marshall but i dunno how much we paid him in wages and paid Crewe for him.

Best- tough one, for sheer quality it's Bego but Beattie for the impact is second.
Worst- Palacios yeah, for the money and the expectation he's been truly dreadful.
Strangest- Edu- why?

Crouch - best? 10m for a 31 year old ill-suited to our team? Do me a favour.
I'll go with your other "Bests", most of your worsts, although Palacios is starting to make a case this season to be eased off that list.
Strangest have to be include Davies - 1m to Southampton for a defender we never played, so young Ant could go the other way - and Arismendi - just who the hell saw a Premier League player in him and sanctioned a 3.5m fee? Owen was another utterly pointless deal, destined for failure, as was Gudjohnsen. What were that pair thinking of signing for Pulis?

Best - Beattie (kept us up) Worst - Arismendi (millions down the drain, zero PL appearances) Strangest - Eidur G (fat & uninterested)

Missed one but only a loan signing John Carew, massive impact he had. £50,000 a week bought in by the capped one to replace Tuncay.

Best - Begovic, Sorrenson, Shawcross, Beattie, Etherington. Worst - Gudjohnsson, Owen, Kitson, Arismendi, Edu. Strangest - Tonge (not so much the original signing, but the contract renewal), Arismendi. Edit: Just seen some of the other posts, and yeah, Palacios may have been a tad iffy too.

Sorensen is a fine example to show it's not always a bad thing if you miss out on your number one transfer targets. If I remember rightly Pulis wanted Carson originally when we got promoted and he turned us down in favour of West Brom. Not only did we save several million pounds in the process signing Tommy, but we got a FAR better goalkeeper as well.

If he'd got his number one targets, I doubt we'd be where we are now. Scary thought.

In all honesty, I was trying to make a point to all the rimmers regarding Pulis's signings, I was clutching at straws with Crouch but at least he has contributed something to the cause, not really his fault the capped one spent far to much securing his services.

Best- Begovic, Huth is the other obvious candidate and there are a clutch of others Inc Beattie, Faye, Etherington who are worth a mention
Worst - Palacios, we have made worse signings but this is 8m + wages completely wasted
Strangest - Probably Owen, could have been good but we clearly had no idea how to use him and it ended up being a waste of a season for him and cash for us. Edu looks strange too but I will reserve judgement until the end of his career here, suspect it might be 'Rangers player going cheap, get in quick and worry about everything else later'

Owen signing must have been to raise Bet365 and Stoke's profile. I'm sure he earned more from punditry than playing
