As good an idea as this is/was, I applaud Stoke for not getting into a bidding war. Someone has to call a halt to these ridiculous prices. If players don't want to play in the Prem, so be it. On the other hand, we SHOULD be willing to pay a reasonable price.

I'm sure there's more to it - but if (BIG IF) we aren't willing to go to £6-7m for Diouf and we're not willing to match the loan fee offered by Stade Rennais, a mid-table club in a league that doesn't have our in-built massive financial advantages, something seems a bit off with the radar of this new directon.
