Momo, who is to blame for this more stringent approach to transfers in your opinion? Also, how can we be mentioned as about to sign Oliveira and then Rennes run the exact same story. Someone, somewhere is spouting bollocks. If this is the new direction jimmy, I don't like it. The timing of it is unfathomable.

He should have been so good for us but what a load of shit he was. He really was a poor version of Mama, I remember being so excited at the time, a Premier League striker! And for 'Castle since he looks like a better version of Mama and has in that time given Ryan and Huth a torrid time in one game we played against them. But like You I was so excited about him signing and he was just dreadful.

So you prefer we spunk 5 - 10 million on english players over 30 years of age with no resale value? I dont see whats not to like about this deal

The 'Castle fans i know love him though!

Disappointing if both Diouf and Oliveira go belly-up in quick succession after emerging as such public targets.
Hard to know why he'd prefer Rennes, unless he's got a love of the Brittany countryside?
As for Diouf, if it turns out we think £6-7m is overpriced for the bloke we've IDd as our No.1 striker, that will be concerning - new direction, old direction or no direction!

The dutch left back was a matter of extreme urgency due to the previous managers allergy to them and the Senor Eyebrows is just further evidence of cost cutting. Cost cutting? I'd call it a shrewd way of getting decent cover in that could one day be a first teamer for us with a big sell on fee. I agree Bayern. Adding those two to the back line is sound. IMHO if we add a wide man (Ince) or two (Hoilett) we're all set. We've got plenty of choice at centre mid and our strikers can just concentrate on striking. They all know where the goal is. Walters is industrious, Jerome's got pace, Crouch's better than most give him credit for with the ball at his feet and Jones is a decent enough target man (when he can be arsed). Obviously if we're playing Fantasy Football Manager then a new striker or two would be nice but I'm happy enough for now if we only bring in one winger.

I was expecting Chris Baird so Muniesa is a big step up on my expectations! I'd like to see more come in but at the end of the day if we do just end up with wingers we have midfielders who can play in this league and strikers who can score. I'd still like to sign a striker or two mind.....just not this fella!

re Rennes: Apparently not, Rob.
On their forum, their manager Montanier is quoted yesterday as saying no signings before sales.
But the manager seems a selling point, based on what he did with Sociedad. Maybe that's the attraction if Oliveira has been attracted?

Of course it could go tits up for them but the two statements stand. Does anyone know who half of the players they have brought are?? Even Sunderland fans on talkshite yesterday were worried about relegation. My tip is for them this season is to be in a massive relegation scrap. Do Canio hasn't got a clue and too many changes in one transfer window doesn't bode well. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S34 from the year 2671 via a terminator called Bob. Using proboards of course.
