THANK YOU PETER COATES
I Can't believe what the club have done here
This is a very caring gesture and will have a big impact on the away support this year.
I was a bit disappointed we did not fill a corner in this year, as that represented to me some of the progress we have achieved in the last 5 years. However, this gesture completely offsets it as the loyal Stoke fans will reap the rewards
and....it does look like we are looking for quality players at the right prices
I will never rubbish TP,things change that's all

Rubbish, where are my free flights to home matches?
In all seriousness, great to see Stoke out in front on anything at all. Fantastic loyalty by the Coates family.

I echo everything that's been said. A fantastic gesture from the club & the Coates family. A step in the right direction for affordable football. I've been discussing it with fellow Brits over here & they can't believe that a Premier League club is looking after its support in this way.

All Premier League clubs have agreed to spend £x on away supporters next season ( I don't know what x is). it could be on almost anything, so long as it benefits away supporters and it could be on your own away support, or away supporters coming to your ground (where of course the home club keeps all the ticket revenue). This is how Stoke City have chosen to spend theirs. It was discussed with Supporters Council reps. a week ago, when the position of "exiles" was raised, and the club agreed to look at whether anything can be done in that regard. About 85% of ST/members live in the local area. I understand that Cardiff have said that away supporters will get free car parking, although I would imagine that will cost a lot less than Stoke's scheme. There has been concern in the PL about the decline in away support across the league, and this is response to that. The more forward-looking people at the PL recognise that a vibrant away support is part of the package which makes it attractive to broadcasters. That sheds a bit of light Malcolm. When you say that all PL clubs have 'agreed' to this, do you know the details? Is it contractual or regulatory in any way? And do you know if 'x' is a percentage (of turnover for example) or a fixed amount?

A fantastic gesture by the club. Though an exile based in Preston I can see the positive benefits for all concerned

excellent gesture and will help Stoke's away form I would think. reinforce the thinking though that prices are way out of line and pressure should be increased on clubs to lower prices

Brilliant gesture from the club. I echo the exiles' lament though - I wouldn't mind Scholes chucking me a few quid to help with my train fare from London!

Just a thought,as the club support Donna Louise Trust would it be fitting to have a collection for them on these coaches for this charity £ 1.00 per person across a season would be major boost to their coffers. And show Stoke fans in good light.

As far as I know, it's a fixed sum. I don't know what that sum is. My best guess would be half a million maximum - but it is only a guess. But as I have said in my blog on the subject fsf.org.uk/blog/view/Stoke-City-offer-fans-free-transportStoke deserve much credit for raising the issue in the Premier League as far back as last autumn and taking a lead in this whole matter. They have now been the first club to clearly state what they are going to do. Our suspicion is that other clubs will not spend this money - or claim to be spending it on things they would have done anyway.
