We all know he's a good keeper but just how good? Are we saying he is as good as Joe Hart or what? With Man Utd & Liverpool interested he has to be a bit special.

I'll put it this way. Even though he is raved about, he is still underrated. The way he has improved this year alone is phenomenal.

As good as Joe Hart, Hart is a bottler and a flapper. I wouldn't swap them.
He's saved us quite a few points this season and should be a priority to keep above everyone.

Begovic is an outstanding keeper, even for Premiership standards. To put it into context, two goalkeepers kept more clean sheets, Joe Hart and David De Gea. Two keepers with very strong defences in front of them, that were pretty consistent throughout the season. Our defence started strong but turned into melted butter by the end of the season. If it wasn't for Bego, I genuinely believe we'd have gone down.
Hart is probably the best keeper in the Prem... but I'll happily say Begovic is probably second best. De Gea is miles behind and Cech isn't what he used to be (Although his performances at the end of this season were stunning)

So fast its scarry.

He made literally 1 or 2 mistakes this whole season and put in some bacon saving saves. I honestly dont know what more you can ask from a keeper? Hes by far the best keeper in the prem when it comes to set pieces, he ALWAYS plucks the ball out of the air

I never doubted the awesomeness of Bego's shot-stopping, but always lamented his distribution. I'm not backing this up with stats. The last few games of this past season I was mightily impressed with his confidence in the 'out'... Less of the massive diagonal bang. {May be because N'Zonzi had upped his game a bit, maybe Shotton was sub-Delap in the chuck, Ryan took that job off him, and whatnot}. Nevertheless, those last few matches he looked like the complete keeper... the finest in this league.. I was impressed by Brad Guzon at the Brit, he commanded the penalty area and allowed Villa the opportunity to counter counter attack. De Gea is a sheep in wolf's clothing and Hart is always capable of a bambi moment. I'd trust Bego over them. I havn't seen the Butland gaff yet.
two questions:
1} Does Bego do enough shouting? 2} The goalkeeping coaching/scouting side of things havn't been dismantled have they? Bego is a product of whatever set up we have... door slammed in his face at Spurs... now on QofS. Whatever criticisms of whatever aspect of SCFC people have. We have had, and have a mint heritage regarding the noble art of keeping goal.

The only weak point is his kicking which at times is poor but only now and then. He is without doubt an outstanding keeper.

Best goalkeeper in the Premiership last season by some distance and worth a fortune with further improvement still to come as well. He could end up being the best in the world.
We have the best pair of goalkeepers in the Premier League currently. No club has a pair better than Begovic/Sorenson!

He is excellent - when a shot comes in I am always confident he'll hold on, and usually he does.
I wouldn't swap him for any keeper in the world, except maybe the Bayern guy

Brilliant. Still only young and has the potential to be the best. Keepers tend to peak later than other players so his potential is frightening.

Bego and Mignolet are the two best goalkeepers in the league for me.

I honestly believe he will be considered the best in the World when he's playing for a top club in couple of years. He made at least one spectacular save per game last season and apart from his kicking I can't think of anything he's weak at.
Goal Keepers aren't as easy to judge when you compare them to others but I really do think that Bego is something special. Pulis' best buy by a mile in terms of talent.

Now Bego isnt playing in a Dulis team his distrubution will match his saving abillity,he'll be allowed to play it out to the FB/CB instead of twating it to Crouchy all the time.
He will then become the best young keeper in any league anywhere.

I always remember someone posting on here, about Begovic before he'd even played a game for us. One of our fans had gone to Austria for pre-season and a local had asked him who's that (Begovic), the local said we'd got an amazing talent.
Begovic for me is easily in top 4 keepers in the prem. i've never felt so confident with him in goal, be sad to see him go if he does, imo he's easily worth £20m.

If Gordon Banks reckons Bego's a good keeper, which he does, that's good enough for me.
He knows a thing or two about being a good keeper does our Banksy.

I liked the one against Swansea at home from the header, and the one away to liverpool. Can't link because I'm on my phone, but those three are all on one compilation video on YouTube

right, now i'll probably get some stick for this but....... if that vid was ANY other keeper then most on here would admit that most (not all) of those AREN'T amazing saves at all. they're actually mostly saves that would be bloody awful if the keeper DIDN'T stop them...even the penalty at the start was bloody awful (no power, nowhere near the corner, basically straight at the keeper) and the majority of Prem keepers would be expected to keep it out. for me, if the keeper would have been criticised heavily if he HADN'T stopped it then it's not an amazing save and most of the saves in that vid fall into that category....i know youtube can make anyone look good or bad but this vid is someone trying to make Begs look amazing (and i agree he is a fantastic keeper) and picking some really really bad examples of mostly bog standard saves to show it. no criticism of Begs at all, more a criticism of whoever put the vid together

We have had, and have a mint heritage regarding the noble art of keeping goal. I noticed his communication with his defenders improved tremendously over the last season. He is utterley in comand of his area now,he's cut out the gaffes from 2 years ago,he still make top saves. & he's got 10 years minimum ahead of him & of course he could still get better He's stubburn enough to not just go & sit on someones bench. We already have his replacement & he is under contract. & we don't need the money. Our position couldnt be any stronger £15m? tbh bollocks to that, make it £25m. TP had his failing but when it came to keepers he signed bloody good ones for Stoke at good value too.
