A Villa win.
Because: 1) Sunderland wouldn't go above us tonight. 2) It would pull up the safety ladder from Wigan a bit more. 3) It would burst the won-two-on-the-bounce Di Canio bubble just before we play them. 4) It wouldn't change the league standings. 5) Villa are a great Midlands club. 6) Wigan have to play 4 games (3 away) in 10 days including Citeh at Wembley and Arse away..... see ya.... ![(bye)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/sxlha3OWhqFVd36WaQ0c.gif)
And a draw is boring ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/KYqg3pYeaerc5lD_P7BR.gif)
Think about US not anyone else, we could do with a Sunderland win. I was with points 1, 3 and 4. Also, if Sunderland win they go above us. Anyway we're (probably) safe so it dunna matter... ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/KYqg3pYeaerc5lD_P7BR.gif)

Absolute certainty next week that Pulis will double up down our right with the threat of Danny Rose watching him tonight so be prepared for Shotton on the right wing imo.

This is an absolutely dreadful result if it stays like this.
We need two teams down there in Wigan and Villa. This brings Villa too close to us with an easy-ish trip to Norwich on the horizon.

Sunderland win without a doubt. This would leave Villa with 3 games left( Away to Norwich, home to Chelsea, home to Wigan). Their goal difference is -27, points 34, a loss would increase goal difference. We are on -10 so even if Villa win 2 of the remaining three we are above them. Wigan have to play Arsenal away so the last match could decide who goes down between them. Wigan need 7 points to go above us, so a final day draw would still send Villa down. Obviously I am assuming Arsenal and Chelsea win the games and we get no more points. I think I am right but do check. checked against bbc predictor and I am right. We are not safe yet, I know I am right, hope it works your way?

Great game. Brilliant second goal and great backing from Villa fans. Please, please, please burst Di Canio's big fascist balloon. I think you can consider it bost, Foxy....

Those who want Villa win are very confident people. I'm not that confident, Villa win could still bite us. 4-1 now as well. Makes wonders for their goal difference.

One things for sure on tonights evidence we certainly need to do what doesnt come natural to us and attack away from home, sunderlands weak point is definately there back four

Norwich only lost 3 at home all season, so I wouldn't call it an easy-ish game for Villa, especially as Norwich will be looking for points too.

I am an arch pessimist but I would still see us as save
Villa have to play both Norwich and Wigan so 2 of the three must drop points.

Wigan could easily get 9 points for their remaining four games. WBA has nothing to play for, Swansea neither. Villa might be safe when they play them in the last match of the season. They have done it before.

Blunderland always manage to shoot themselves in the foot.
The imperious reign of the Italian spiv looks to be suffering major collywobbles - and perhaps the wearsider fans and players won't be as confident now.
This could well burst their bubble.
AND now Sessegnon gets a violent conduct sending off - 3 match ban?
