Two things stick out in my mind and none of them the Peterborough game
1......his goal late on v Huddersfield at home in the promotion season ....why ? god knows
2......when he was sub in that FA cup replay match at Vale Park and as he was warming up we were being taken around the pitch after being ejected from The Bycars following a bit of a ruck and he just smiled and said " top lads ".
RIP Stokie

OMG I'm absolutely gutted. One of my best ever nights supporting Stoke was at London Road. Piledriver of a free kick that nearly burst the net. RIP Tupper one of my favorite ever Stokies. Will never forget that night - stood right behind the goal and in line. Sent 3000 Stokies home all singing and dancing. Thank you Paul - You are a legend. RIP Pal

Was in Paul's school year and it was obvious he would be a pro. Met with him professionally post football and he was so happy. Thoughts are with his family and friends, died too young, very sad.

RIP Paul. so very sad to hear today. If todays team were as proud to wear the shirt as you were, and gave as much as you did, then maybe we wouldn't be where we are now.

I met Paul in Bournemouth on the weekend of the Hillsborough disaster. I always loved his effort & commitment. So sad to hear he's lost his battle with illness. Thoughts go out to his family. They are blessed to have had him in their lives, as are we.

I can only add to the comments on here that reflect just how much Paul was admired, both as a Stoke City player and a man. This really is dreadful news as we'd all hoped things were getting better for him. His family have clearly been through a living hell and my thoughts are very much with them at this time. I have a lovely photograph of Paul that we took during one of our 'Open Days' and he was a lovely, lovely young fella.
So very sad.

My first game was in 92 my old man took me to the vic and that was it........Hooked!
So the players,Promotion,Songs and more all stick in my head.
The old man loved Warey and always told me to watch how hard he tried, How much it meant to him and the effort he put in every match.
I will always remember him giving 100%, The huddersfield goal and the cast on his arm.
Thoughts with the family RIP Paul Ware x

Fate has a day marked off for all of us. For some it may be a day far away in the distance, for others like Paul Ware, the day has arrived tragically too soon. It is of some comfort that the memories of us will live on for some time after we have gone- but the memory of Paul Ware will never die.
Even after we're all long gone, Paul Ware's shot will still be hitting the back of Peterborough's net, and generations of Stokies yet to be born will watch the celebrations and the unbridled joy on that terrace and wish they'd been alive to experience it.
Players and fans- we're all just passing through, but Stoke City will live on forever.
RIP Paul Ware 1970-2013. Gone but NEVER forgotten.

Alright lads, very rarely feel the need to post on here but after hearing of this terrible news, I feel compelled to do so to pay tribute to one of my favourite ever Stoke players.
Even after 28 years of following SCFC, the away match at Peterborough is still in my top 5 favourite games. I'll never forget watching Warey's free kick fly past the keeper and bodies going beserk all around me in the away end. The feeling of euphoric disbelief the next day when it sunk in that we were playing in a match at Wembley still seems like yesterday. Paul Ware was the main reason for that! He made a 17 year old Stoke fan, who was only ever used to seeing us achieve the square root of fuck all, believe that better times lay ahead.
The guy was a hero, one of us, someone who would run through the proverbial brick wall for the club. I think the response on the message boards and local media to this news shows how well he was thought of. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
RIP Warey

I do hope that Paul's family have been aware of the many requests on here for an update on Paul's health. That should tell you everything about the respect in which Paul was held and his likeability among so many of us. May it help to inspire you all, in the difficult days ahead.

RIP Paul "tupper" Ware. Cracking lad who gave thousands of us an unforgettable mental with his brilliant free kick at the posh. Puts so much into perspective today and I really hope the club help with a fitting tribute to him for his family and friends.

I was a huge fan of Paul Ware growing up. Tupper was one of my favourite players and part of the side that I remember most in the late 80s/early 90s. Of course like most I'll remember the Peterborough goal and Paul being part of the Autoglass trophy win and subsequent promotion. Thoughts to his family and friends.
