I do hope that Paul's family have been aware of the many requests on here for an update on Paul's health. That should tell you everything about the respect in which Paul was held and his likeability among so many of us. May it help to inspire you all, in the difficult days ahead. Yes they have Monica. They have handled everything with unbelievable dignity and love from what I've seen/heard. I met Paul once, for three hours, for the interview. I don't think anyone or any family has given me such inspiration. Although we'd met only once, Paul actually phoned me when my dad died before Xmas. A SCFC legend, taking the time and trouble to phone someone they hardly knew, at such a dreadful personal time! That's why my eyes have been red all day and to be honest, the rest of the season doesn't seem to matter much now. What a human being. If Warey's family read this thread, and I'm sure they will, you were unbelievably lucky to have Paul as a husband and dad. You were truly blessed.

An absolute legend
Took a coach to London Road that night and it was perfect that Warey sent me and my mates on our first trip to wembley
I hope the current players are thinking of him when they pull on the red and white jersey on Saturday afternoon
If they fight like him and show as much passion as him we will be safe lads
Thoughts and love go out to his family
RIP Warey.Never forgotten
We'll be with you x

RIP Warey . Wish we had you now for the fight to stay up.
Eternal thanks for the memories , can still see that free-kick hitting the back of the net at Peterborough .

Devastating news & genuinely upsetting. Like many others, I've had a tear in the eye especially given we're the same age. That night at Peterborough was mint. Travelling down in a knackered old bus, abusing Bobby Gould on the way to the ground & topped by one of the best drunken mentals ever created by 'Tupper's' goal. Always 100% in a Stoke shirt. RIP

So sad after what seemed like a break back to health and happiness. Much love to his wife and children. 42 is an obscene age to lose a Stoke City great, and even worse to lose a father and husband, son and friend. RIP Paul.
We'll be with you xx
