Can someone do the math? How many to Thun need to score to go through now? 3? Wind up? ??? 2 will see them through even if we score (1). 1-0 thun at our ground will mean extra time. I honestly don't know why I responded, I'm convinced it's a wind up

away from home in europe is all about doing a job. man utd change their style for it and play a containing game against good sides, liverpool under benitez were the most boring side ever away in europe, and both of these sides have had success. its all about doing a job and as an inexperienced european side who play defensively away in the league, we are going to playing like this in every away game in europe this season, because it means we might do well.
great performance, job done nicely, well done pulis, especially in a dirty game (both sides) a poor ref, and a SHOCKING pitch.
fans were loud too - well done those who were there.

Do some people posting here not appreciate 2 leg European football?
First leg away from home priority avoiding conceding more than one goal - if possible none - if possible try to sneak away goal
At home tie punish them as they have to push forward
The last I heard additional points or goals were not awarded for looking pretty
Job done - well done TP

We won, but TONGE is shit He didn't pick himself. But it does show how thin we are on the ground. Come on, TP, bring some players in. In you we trust!

The mark of a truely great side is when you can play poor/average and still continue to pick up results. Look at Man U last season...
Trust in TP, 3 or 4 players in, a couple back from injury and its looking rosy.

It was a great result, but our passing was dire, including people like Ethers and Wilson who are much better than this usually. I'm hoping it was the plastic pitch.
Arismendi looked pretty good though in his brief cameo. I'd give him a run out in the second leg too. Upson was okish.
Pugh and Tonge were pretty bad. And why Ethers and Walters got themselves booked God knows.

I would normally class myself as a happy clapping rimmer when it comes to SCFC but I thought Stoke were fairly awful last night.
I'm not calling for anybody to get sacked or calling anyone shit, I'm just saying we sometimes have bad games and last night was one of them.
However, I understand that the squad is stretched and it's always difficult away in Europe especially on a ridiculous pitch so I'm delighted with the result.

Just to put it in perspective Celtic drew 0-0 at home to Sion a side four places below Thun despite having 50,000 in the ground. I agree it wasn't the most exciting but as far as attitude and application go it was faultless. Fair play Danny Pugh, great goal and full of commitment......anyone else notice him win a ball off a guys high foot with his head in the 89th minute winning us a free kick. Amazes me sometimes how proud this bunch make me to be a Stokie.

Sounds like your lot were a little heavy-handed, even by their standards.

Yes but the whole point of your existance on here (as you have said) is to educate those of us who turn a blind eye and think we're victimised. Surely if a "large portion" of us are suggesting we were awful and thuggish that means your work here is done and you can fuck off. Yes? Why not find some friends and talk about your own club for a change. Surely there is someone out there for an arrogant, deluded prick like yourself.

It's only blanket denial to you mate, there's plenty of spirited(!) debate between Stoke fans on here. Bunker mentality is the phrase you're looking for. Just like if planet earth came under attack from a horde of fairly dim troll-like beings; everyone would put their petty differences aside and join forces.

NQDP - after you spent some time on here last night enquiring whether the game was on TV I'm surprised you didn't watch it on one of the streams that were pasted on here - I know how desperate you were to watch it. Never mind - better luck next time.
