Eddie (Chopper) Clamp, he was bought for a fee of £14,000 to ensure that Stan could work his magic on the wing without having to worry about being hacked down by some big, brutal defender. In the days when every team had a hard man, our hard man was always harder than the oppositions hard man. He was never a great footballer but he did more than his fair share to help put Stoke back in the First Division. Sadly Eddie died at the relatively young age of 61.

Steino, as good a natural goalscorer as we have had. Ric has to be up there with the best and unfortuantely I think we will only fully realise how good Ric is when he's gone
