Rules are there to be adhered to.
Wednesday have broken the rules.
Therefore they need to be punished and the opponents compensated.
Simply put, your sour grapes is a pile of bollocks.

but we broke no football league rules by tackling hard if it was a Red card then he would of been sent off by the Ref.
6 players in the Match Day 16 equals a football league rule break, and as one of your loan player scores i really think that the book will be thrown at you.

"Do they put loanee in brackets after player when handing in team sheet, simple for ref to pick up?
Not the Refs job to do that surely !!

Another thought on this regarding if they only get fined.
If they get a fine only upto say £20k other clubs in the future may think that it's an amount worth risking if it means gaining a points advantage to avoid relegation or gain promotion.
Also, think of it that the extra 1000 Stoke fans who bought tickets at approx £20 would have actually paid for the fine.

yes, and we would have been given a penalty. These things are based on opinion, having 6 loanes is a factual breach of the rules.

TBH, I don't think it's too far-fetched to imagine a scenario in which Wednesday are fined/docked a point and we get the cube-root of nowt.
Could you really see the game being awarded to Stoke, flagrant breach of league regulations or not? Would the Football League really have the cahoonas?
Owlzat: if we're going down that avenue, wouldn't Stoke have also been awarded a penalty? The fact is, there's a difference between breaking league rules and a bit of debatable officiating.

I agree sour grapes but rules are rules i'm afraid. True but if that was the case then Stoke may have been reduced to 10 men or even 9 in the first half for awful tackles Or would have gained from a blatent penalty

It couldn't have been more of a flagrant rule break if they'd fielded Ronaldinho and Henry up front.
An illegal team is an illegal team. That 16 wasn't allowed to represent Sheffield Wednesday this afternoon.
As we're the only opponents who have directly suffered, surely we need some kind of recompense in order for justice to be done?
If they get a slap on the knuckles, maybe we should play all 7 of our loanees for the rest of the season?

My thoughts exactly FM.
It makes you more peeved by the fact one of them has scored the equaliser although this is irrelevant.

I agree. Just fining them doesn't alter the fact that their rule breaking has cost us points.

Agree, Fullermagic. I just doubt whether we'd actually get anything. ??? EDIT: that doesn't mean that I don't hope something happens. If that makes me a member of the straw-clutching brigade, so be it.

I don't think we are "straw clutching". I went to the QPR game and Gallagher made a fair difference when he came on. Today we didn't have that option because we stuck to the rules. They were able to introduce impact players because they cheated. It's that simple for me.

STOKE are investigating the possibility that Sheffield Wednesday broke registration rules today by naming six loan players in their match day 16.
Rules state that clubs can only name five and Stoke were forced to leave out Paul Gallagher and Gabriel Zakuani to comply with the laws. But Wednesday named half a dozen loan signings in their starting 11 and on the bench - and Portsmouth loanee Franck Songo’o happened to net their second-half equaliser in today’s 1-1 draw with Stoke. Stoke hierarchy are understood to be trying to contact football league chiefs to clarify the ruling. But it is unlikely any penalty would include Stoke being granted any extra league points as recompense for any breaking of the law.
