He was asked if he felt he should have brought some younger players. He replied that he didn't thinkn the younger players (eg Johnson) would have been less tired.
Asked if our style was out of date - replied that he didn't think so - he played a style to suit our players. felt the problem was our players physical and mental situation not our style

Funny how they can just swan off home laughing and joking even though they've let a nation down. It sounds to me that they're trying to get him to resign. If they wanted him to stay, they'd have said in the meeting. Fabio himself sounds like he doesnt want to go. As for being tired, that's rubbish. Grown athletes can't concentrate and compete for 90 minutes at a time? As (whatshisnameagain?) said, he used to play when the mud was 3 foot deep, on iced up pitches yet they managed back then... Now we have immaculate pitches, almost non contact rules, yet players can't manage 5-6-7 extra matches every now and again? |

they play 18 matches in qualification - Uruguay played 20 winning a 2 legged play off against costa rica. forlan had a full season of league and european football at atletico madrid and played in most of the qualifers scoring 7 goals - he's not looking too tired for uruguay, is he?
