Players were tired - coaches said players were more tired than during qualification they should have been made to watch the last set in the record tennis match which ended 70-68, that would have shown then what passion & spirit was, now i'm sure they were tired!!!

A pretty futile exercise that was doing nothing more than fan the flames of an already hostile media and awaiting public.
I hope Capello really lets fly at the FA meeting in 2 weeks about everything wrong with English football as he could hardly do it right there and then today.
He has made some serious misjudgements about his players abilities and attitudes but how many quality players did he have to pick from for each position, honestly?
This country simply does not have the depth of talent of other nations and that is an FA failing, not Fabio's.
He's made the best of a bad lot and he must be hurting at being made to look so incompetent.
Not saying he's perfect (far from it) but his options were incredibly limited. No doubt he will be the fall guy whilst The FA continue to ignore the root causes...

Why didn't someone have the brass bollox to ask him why, when we were chasing goals yesterday, he had the great idea to put Heskey on ?

This country simply does not have the depth of talent of other nations and that is an FA failing, not Fabio's. I think that would be fair enough if he'd picked the best players available and played them in their correct position. It's painfully obvious that we're not as good as we'd like to think we are, but I don't believe we had the best eleven on the pitch yesterday, or even the best 23 in South Africa. When Fabio arrived we were promised that he would pick his sides according to form, not reputation. That hasn't happened, and it's the thing that disappoints me most about his tenure. A properly-organised and well-motivated England would have been able to beat Germany yesterday.

He'll be gone then won't he? If he was deffo staying he'd be deffo staying and thats that. You would think it's all just about compensation now Joe ... the lawyers probably need two weeks to thrash it out. He's called for a fundamental change (the winter break) to our game, indeed he's pretty much blamed our no show in South Africa on not having one in place already. I just don't see how he can then continue from this autumn knowing that we WONT be having a winter break. If that's the principle reason for the fuck up this time Fabio, then you must now resign as you would simply have no credibility whatsoever in continuing ,knowing that the Premier League will be playing footy all through next (and the following) January & February.

I'm sure someone would have asked that question if the Press Conference hadn't been brought to an abrupt halt by Capello's minder. He didn't like the fact that the questions were hostile so he decided to call an end to proceedings.

I agree, the players who took part need a winter break.
A long one.
In fucking Siberia.

For me the problem lies a lot deeper with the FA. There seem to be some empire building inadequate officials at the highest level. www.thefa.com/TheFA/WhoWeAre/TheOrganisation/Player/ManagementTeamIt is high time that some of these muppets took some responsibility for the debacle we have seen. Not sure who that bloke was in the conference, but what a sanctimonious nobhead he is
