Its really hard to judge from International football and especially big tournaments. Take Steven Pienaar for example. He's been ineffective in his last two games against decent International teams containing players no better than the Premier League and he's been subbed both times. If you were blindfolded to the fact that he plays for a top Premier League club and basing it solely on this tournament you wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. Watch him for Everton and you'd instantly get your cheque book out to the tune of 10M+ in today's market. I can understand why some managers go nowhere near International tournaments. It must be a bloody nightmare! Karel Poborsky anyone? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif)

I was really impressed with Switzerland's left-back Ludovic Magnin today, I can remember him doing quite well at the 2006 World Cup too. Only 31, and seems to be able to support his winger aswell as defend well. Pity he's only recently joined FC Zurich. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/4tzqvp1fxEemag_TAXLJ.gif)

That mphela guy for south africa looks half decent. Felt a bit sorry for him at times with the lack of support he was getting.

Ol' saggy chops has nipped in there and also pinched Kjaer (sp) the v highly rated centre back - £28 big 'uns the pair of 'em.
Looks like a crocked CB or two (Woodgate / King) & a striker (Pav / Keane) are being "covered" / shipped out then.
