"The Portsmouth medical people have told us today that David is still not fit and won't be until next week at the earliest," Town boss Jim Magilton confirmed to the Club website.
"Games are running out for us now and we have decided we need to move on and look at other targets.
"We have other irons in the fire and will step up our interest elsewhere now."
If it really is down to fitness concerns and not just a convenient face-saving way out for Ipswich, maybe we'd be foolish not to be thinking the same as them?
The kind of figures being mentioned are a lot for a player who may not even be up to speed for a few weeks.

They're not prepared to wait one more week ? ... sounds a bit dodgy to me, they've waited this long why not one more week ? Fitness isn't something Pulis usually concerns himself with when signing a player so we'd probably take him now

As long as he's not had a leg amputated, he'll still be more of a goal threat than mamma.

hmm a manager - Magilton - who wont wait forever for a player to sign
what Nugent needs is a manager out there who WILL wait for eveer & a day & a night & another day in fact a whole season or three to get his man.
now who could that be?

Fair enough. But how many of the season's 8 remaining weeks do we want to write-off waiting for him to get match-fit - particularly when we're paying over the odds for the privilege? Mind you, if the worst came to the worst, he might just be 100% sharp in time for the play-offs

Yeah, I've not noticed any sudden body implosion from Cresswell, despite what Hull said.

Whichever way you look at it, Fuller & Nugent is a formidable CCC forward line.
And one that would put the fear of god into most, if not all CCC defences.
So with the small matters of: fitness (is he injured?), the "can they actually play together?" question answered affirmatively and a cool half a mill or so out of St. Peter's piggy bank (once known as the warchest of course), we're cooking.
Go for it Peter, you only live once ol' son.

portsmouth say he wont be fully fit until early next week at the earliest which could tie in nicely for when fuller surely gets his ban play him with gally up front then with fuller when he returns! then watch us fly over the finishing line.............or am I dreaming.
don't forget the pulis/harry relationship either could come to us on a cheaper deal than for ipswich
