the reality is that whatever deal Ipswich were offering is gone
that might mean Pompey will be glad of a lesser (££££ wise) deal from Stoke?

Possibly there is a grain of truth in there somewhere perhaps?
OK he may want to get back nearer home etc but...he has got form and he may do that (no returning calls, stalling etc) to us also now and we can't afford a two week "on / off" dalliance with him either.
Is it just me or does he come across as a little immature on all his post match interviews - as in not the full picnic? (Might explain the behaviour & attitude towards Ipshit? OK Magilton's a rate twatter, granted, but not retuning the calls is just rude and not being able to decide is just immature.)
Doesn't need to be brain of Britain or mr Maturity to score a couple or three hat tricks in the stripes though eh?
Go for it Peter!

Would be good signing for me as well. Only I agree with Trend. I think our Tone will stick with Mama & Ricci and use Nugent when or if Fuller gets suspended.

Half a million squid to sit him on the bench and watch Mama?
Mmmm...

Magilton angry at Nugent silence Magilton is critical of players who are content to warm the bench Ipswich manager Jim Magilton has criticised Portsmouth's David Nugent after failing to sign him on loan. Magilton got fed up of waiting for the striker, 22, to return his calls.
"Portsmouth have been very good about this but we've spoken to the player and we haven't had a response," Magilton told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"So David Nugent can go and play for whoever he wants now. The very least we deserve is a phone call or something to suggest he's not available."
Interview: Ipswich Town boss Jim Magilton
The Ipswich boss is critical of top-flight players who seem content to stay on the fringes of their parent clubs rather than drop down a division to play first-team football.

"Premier League players who are not in their squads seem to choose the option of not coming out and playing," he added.
"I was at a Premier League club and my self-satisfaction was zero if I wasn't playing on a Saturday but the game has moved on and these lads seem quite happy to pick up their money and sit there and not play."
Magilton says he is now looking at other options and would not rule out an approach for Fulham and Northern Ireland striker David Healy.

STOKE CITY are now at the head of the queue to land David Nugent on loan after Ipswich pulled out of the deal to sign him. Ipswich boss Jim Magilton announced he would be pursuing other targets after last night's 1-1 draw with Sheffield United because the Pompey striker does not yet feel he has fully recovered from recent groin surgery.
That now leaves promotion rivals Stoke in pole position with former Pompey boss Tony Pulis keen to recruit the striker to boost his club's promotion campaign.
Pompey and Ipswich had agreed a loan deal that would have seen the Championship outfit pay the striker's wages, a six-figure loan fee and a bonus if they achieved promotion at the end of the season.
But Magilton ended his interest in taking Nugent after the player told him he was still not fit enough and would not be so until next week at the earliest.
Magilton said: 'It is dead – finished.
'We have waited long enough.
'We were going to give him until the end of this week but the player has been honest enough to say he won't be fit and so we move on.
'Games are running out for us now and we have decided we need to move on and look at other targets.
'We have other irons in the fire and will step up our interest elsewhere now.'
The 22-year-old has found it hard to settle at Fratton Park since his £6m move from Preston in the summer.
The England international has scored three goals in cup competitions but has yet to find the net in the Premier League in 11 appearances for the club.
