Ref......Not to blame for the result

All of this talk about the ref being poor is detracting us from what was a piss poor performance, yes refs can influence matches but we were 2-0 down and not tackling or pressing QPR before the sending off so we can have no complaints....

True Knype. But, we have seen plenty of games where we have been poor first half, and have turned on a decent performance in the second.

Without the sending off, and the clearly off-side goal, maybe we'd have turned it around? At least the pattern of substituations would have been different. We'd have kept our most creative player of the season in Lawrence on for longer.

Why dont we wake up to the fact that we were beaten and soundly by a better team! QPR worked their socks off 1st half especially! It wasnt even individual mistakes that cost us it was team mistakes, surely the players realize that to get the ball back you have to tackle and also the best place to tackle and do that is as soon as the opposition have the ball, you press them to force them onto the back foot and try and rush them into a mistake! We did none of the above!

It's not about that though is it knype? I agree with your points, but I do not accept the fact that as at the point of the sending off we would never have turned the game around with a full side of 11 men.

Yes - we were beaten by the better team, but it was made a lot easier for them by the poor officiating.

The referee was responsible for how the match played out, he has to answer to all of those Stoke fans who made the trip down to London to see a game which was ruined thanks to his incompetence, they are the ones I feel sorry for, this facking wankstain shouldn't be let anywhere near a football ground again.

Because even at 2-0 down with 11 men were well capable of scoring 2 goals (or more) in the 2nd half , after a proper rollicking from Pulis ... we hit the bar, the post had a penalty turned down , we were getting chances

We were poor in the first half but probably no poorer than we were in the first half against Scunthorpe. We probably would not have gone on to win the game even if Griff had not been sent off - but that is no reason for us not to point out that the ref didn't do his job properly.

If he fails to see something, that can happen to anyone - but this fool claims to have seen something which clearly did not happen. So, he gave a red card when he cannot possibly have seen a foul because there wasn't one. In other words he gave a dishonest decision he thought there MIGHT have been a foul which he hadn't seen but he gave a red card anyway. The fact that Stoke were playing badly doesn't alter that simple fact.

Whelon, fuller and then the v nearly og, add on the penalty thats 4 chances to score and 2 of them were with 10 sodding men. Im amazed the players didnt give up after the 3rd goal, i certainly would have done. Im sure had we pulled it back, and then got a 4th that toss rag would have found one of our players guilty of fouling the garss or something

Wrong Knype, he might have cost us the game or he might not have done - nobody knows. If he had been refereeing the game against Scunthorpe and had sent a player off before half time the result MIGHT have been different or it might not - no one knows, not even you.

What he did do was lessen our chances of getting back into the game - and then, to make sure, he allowed them an offside goal!
