iam glad fans are beginning to see this after along few years! pulis out or we will be doomed have a word with yourself, he took tuncay off for the good of the team. Holding on for a draw was the right call in the circumstances after losing a man. Tuncay should of swallowed the bullet and walking off like a man, instead he threw his toys out the pram and every player told him to calm down. Not done his chances of playing for the TEAM any favours I didn't see it as they tried to calm him down, it looked more like they had real sympathy with him.

I'm not saying he should go, I'm saying he should drop his persistence with tactics that have failed us 2 games in a row, and his obvious fascination with a midfield 4 that is outplayed every single week.
Yes he has signed some fantastic players for our club, but as yet I'm not convinced that he has what it takes to manage them successfully.
We have a largish squad of fairly talented players, and for me the starting 11 isn't guaranteed for anyone now, but when Lawrence can't get a game and Whitehead etc seem to be undroppable, then we have problems.
It's almost like our game plan goes out the window if we go 1-0 up! As others have said it was clear that our plan wasn't working early in the 2nd half, and although Matty did have another great game, he did fade.
Oh well bad day at the office, time to pick ourselves up look where things went wrong and make changes, not just reast on ou laurels and hope things pan out for us.

Jesus Wept absolutely anybody else would have reacted EXACTLY the same way as Tuncay did when he realised he was a substitute being subbed after seven minutes, he's not a fooking robot devoid of all emotions!
When he left the pitch he shook Wilko's hand FFS, even though he was understandably devastated at that precise time.

Squeekster - it was the 90th minute and 1-1! Any manager would want to defend the point - we didn't however! PFF There was 2 or 3 players ie Dickhead or Delap who he could of tacken off and at least give us an out let but no he took that away and we lost out to a propper tactic from Brown.

GK, I understand what you are saying. I do feel sympathy for Tuncay though. He's clearly a good player, there's no disputing that. He cannot get in the side to show us what he can do, for whatever reason. He's reacted well and showed a good attitude and work ethic whenever he has been brought on, and today he is sacrificied when we have a tired midfield, after being on the pitch for precisely 7 minutes. As an established Premier League and international footballer I can understand his frustration. Pulis wont give him a fair crack. Now if he had played the last few games and been given a chance then I dont think you'd have seen that reaction. Like I said, Pulis must accept some blame - he knew what Tuncay was when he signed him, and if he's not prepared to have that in the team he should never have brought him here.
Tuncay seems like a guy with a decent attitude and I'm sure he will apologise - but in the long term I cannot see Pulis sticking with him. Its a shame because today, both Whitehead and Delap added nothing to our game other than tracking back and plenty of huff and puff. Whitehead is extremely weak on the ball and in the tackle - could Tuncay be any worse?
Still, we are doing well so far this season, and hopefully we can get back to winning ways against Pompey - with or without Tuncay.

Pulis always has and always will split the supporter base. Its just who the bloke is really. We didn't play very well at all but could easily have still won the game (Man Utd seem to do this regularly). With regards Tuncay, hes paid £40-50k a week (if rumours are correct) - if i was getting paid that sort of money, I think i could force myself to behave in a professional manner. Hes a fully grown bloke after all - not some child in the play ground - frustration sure but no need for the temper tantrum. Pulis obviously sees Tuncay purely as a striker so it was a toss up between Kitson and Tuncay who to take off following the red card - its open to argument who would be more effective as the lone striker. With all due respect mate thats bollocks Tuncay wants to play and you can see that so when you get subbed after 5 mins after coming on as a sub and you walk off like what ever im still being paid 50k a week then that would be shit. that may well be the case. however it should show one thing, if nothing else, tuncay is a professional wanting to do a professional job ... however he is not being given the chance to it. its clear he wants to play for stoke ... otherwise he could well have gone somewhere bigger and for more money. we didnt get in their faces at all today and the closing down was crap ... in the few mins he was on tuncay was the only stoke player hurrying the opposition and making life difficult.

Paul, if you're playing up front when the score is 1-1 and you have a defender sent off, you know that another defender will come on. Were it me out there that had just come on, I'd be bloody disappointed that I'd lost my chance to shine but I wouldn't have an on pitch temper tantrum and storm off into the dressing room. It's bloody selfish.

The correct decision was to take, Kitson or Tuncay off. I would have taken Kitson off. Correct Kitson looked like a 3rd division forward when he came on. Totally inept. Tuncay was unlucky, but one of your 2 front men had to be hooked. The bigger picture is why were Stoke in that position at all? From being comfortable in the first half to abject in the second is bewildering. Once again the managers neglect of quality in the middle of the park leads to more loss of points.

Those fans are cunts You have your views, dont call people cunts though, Everyone knows what Pulis has down for us, but EVERYONE knows his down falls, you know im right when I say not everyone likes him. MD it's all very well saying that an hour after the game has finished from the comfort of your own home, but when you consider how determined the lad is to prove himself to us all but has been denied an opportunity to do so so and for him to be then humilated in front of a TV audience like that for you to then at that precise moment expect him to just shrug his shoulders and not show any emotion is (with the greatest of respect) just plain fookin daft mate. He shook Wilko's hand and went straight down the tunnel ... there's a fair few international captains who would have probably knocked Pulis out at that precise moment instead. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif)

For me, it was only humiliating once he threw his strop on the pitch. Then it became an all-round embarrassment. He could have gone off with a little more dignity, could he not? Like I said, were it me, I'd have come off the pitch al-mightily frustrated but have understood why the decision was taken. Come Monday morning I'd probably have at least been to the manager's office looking for assurances that he sees me as being able to fit into the team somewhere, but showing yourself up on the pitch does nothing for yourself or the club. It drags both right through the mud and puts the manager in a very uncomfortable position.

Where do you start with this?! Tony Pulis is a devisive manager, he was first time around, he was on his return, he has been everywhere he has been. Fact. You only need to read this message board every day to see that (PHWS vs Pulis Psychophants).
Today was the worst away day in our Premier League experience so far. A game we were in control of was lost and for many Stokies we just never seem to learn. TP never seems to learn. The same debates rage on here time after time. That's why he is devisive.
Just a week after Kitson's walk out we now have another management crisis on our hands. Normally there is a gap between these sorts of episiode. Now we have two together.
This was always going to be Pulis' biggest challenge. To push on we need better players and what happens off the pitch in keeping every one happy is almost as important as what happens on it.
I can understand Tuncay's reaction. I'm not sure he needed to make a substitution at all. The players who were on were good enough to sort it out. It sent a message to Hull that we were worried. Their fans even chanted "you don't know what you're doing". I agreed with them.
We now have a couple of weeks off to take stock. It's not a crisis but we do need to take a look at things, to work on plans B, C and D. We need to look at how to get a return on the investment made in the team, in particular offensively. We have not scored enough, we aren't creating enough. 9th will be a distant memory if we don't learn from our mistakes.
Meantime we can wish Liam and Glenn good luck, come back in one piece and let's get you both back in the team together where you belong. Ryan - your time will come.

Agree with the original post 100%. I even text my mate earlier saying the same thing. Pulis has split the fans big time. I cannot fault what he has achieved at this club but I honestly believe he has thrown away 10 points this season by bad decision making and what appears to be a certain stubborness.
One things for sure Whitehead and Collins should be nowhere near the 1st team. They are woeful and quite simply not good enough.
I still dont like his tactics at the best of times. I feel we are far too negative and defensive alot of the time. We have never killed a side off.

Wilkinson takes knock after knock after knock without so much of a shrug of a shoulder.
Does that make him any less worthwhile to the team as Tuncay?
I'd say it makes him more worthwile to the team and a top professional to boot. He also comes back stronger time and again.
Tuncay would do well to take a large leaf out of his large book.

The divisive thing was the main point many of were making when he got the job back. True supporters have been derided for not wanting a manager who will always split the fan base down the middle. As for the Tuncay incident, the comments of Jamie Redknapp seemed about right. The manager's actions could well lose us a player. Whether he is paid thousands of punds or a tenner a week is irrelevant here. the reaction was wrong but totally understandable. Why not simply move Delap back and Huth to the centre?

TP is a very stubborn guy who will stick to his plan no matter how it winds the supporters up . Simply because he doesn't care about the supporters. He doesn't care about ANYONE but Tony Pulis. As long as his record of never being relegated is intact when he retires, he doesn't give a shit about winning any trophies, especially cups, nor about the players he sets up for fan crucifixion, nor about the fans who pay a huge slice of their income to follow their team. He's petty, and his treatment f several players now should tell you all you need to know about him. Far from being a "man of the people" as he likes to portray, he's an inadequate little tyrant.
