I suppose it’s like booing the oppositions team being announced before kick off. Wouldn’t do it myself for an anthem but each to their own. This. For me its just banter, nothing political, gone on for years without being highlighted. Shows what snowflakes ( and I hate that term) we have become.

Come on, we have had a cracking 13 years or so compared to what went before. Promotion to the Premier League, FA Cup semi and final at Wembley, Europe, how good was that? World Cup semi in 2018 and now this coming on Sunday. Stokies born 2000 on have had a bloody ball. The little buggers born 2010 onwards will think this is the norm with England! Enjoy it people, this will be a special moment.

Never mind clubs doing this, the council should be all over it like a rash. Plenty of outdoor places to erect big screens/fan zones, Longton Park, Hanley Park, Tunstall Park, Bet365 car park, other citys do it so why not ours? Oh yes, Abbey says covid is rampant. What Abbey wants Abbey gets. These are outdoor areas, money to be raised with food drink etc. Well done Hanley Town for having some vision.

Wasn't 2000/01 Premier Division Cup Final at Newcastle Town was it? Premier League? You're overestimating my talents mate think it was the 2nd division..... spent from '78 until 2001 playing and then managing in the Ansells league. Great days, still see most of the lads aswell.

Nerves. I once missed one in an Ansell's Cup final despite having an otherwise unblemished record, I can only think Kane was at least as nervous as I was so I sympathise with him having been there previously..... Wasn't 2000/01 Premier Division Cup Final at Newcastle Town was it?

Pickford, for some reason was back to his hyperactive worst. He has been pretty steady up to now but last night he was an accident waiting to happen. Stick with him though, as will Southgate, needs a session with his shrink before hand. We got stronger the game went on last night, game management was top drawer. We have to be wary of their pace on the counter, Stones and Maguire went walkabout twice and if that happens again we will get punished. These players are still learning though and have made great strides since being booed off v Scotland. Heart and head says our name is on it, wallet says different with £350 winnings coming with an Italian win, £50 at 6/1. Cash out offer is £150, do I don't I?

The difference is this, Southgate has not only been there done that, losing a semi final, but he was responsible for losing one. Now, missing that penalty has given him a mission that he couldn't fulfil as a player, to put it right. He knows the hurt, knows whats required and is doing his damndest in a quiet but honest way. His self belief is unreal, I, along with many others questioned the Sterling selection from day one, Kane looked like a player needing a rest in the early group games, bringing Maguire back too quickly (who imo had his best ever game v Germany) yet Gareth stuck to his faith in these players. They are getting stronger as we go on. I can't remember another England manager who went through what Southgate did as an International player who went on to manage the England team. Hoddle to my thoughts never got close to the latter stages. I may be wrong my brain isn't what it was. Anyway, we are on the verge. Denmark had me a bit worried as our next opponents until I watched their semi, they were drained at the end, we have more than enough to cope with them. Lets enjoy this, its a very very rare moment in football time.

Certainly knows where the net is, shots headers toe pokes and the spectacular! Could be a shrewd one this, if there is any substance to it that is.

Was like watching Tardelli, Gentile , Benetti and co all over again. Nailed it mate. Like the Italy of old, you either love and admire it or detest it. Its a sneaky dark arts within the rules, but sprinkled with some amazing passing and workrate. They have improved massively in a few years. My money went on them at 6/1 after the second group game, I would still happily settle for us smacking their butts.

Italy v England at Wembley is going be a hell of a final! Lets get through tomorrow first. Even then, Denmark may have something to say about that, they are spurred on by the Errikkson thing and have a decent squad. Italy look the mutts nuts.

To be fair, everyone except Kane is bang at it, we are playing with tem men at the moment and can't afford to do that. DCL would have been a good alternative

We really need Harry Kane back to his best, he hasn't shown much yet, he gets frustrated and starts chasing the ball, when one does it others do it and you lose shape. This is very winnable, just hope Southgate drops the safety sam approach and goes for it. I would go-
Pickford Walker Stones Maguire Mount Rice Phillips Chilwell Foden Kane Grealish
Can't wait, this tournament is really starting to get going. We owe these a few and remember, THEY DON'T LIKE IT UP 'EM!!!

What I'll give you is that every 'improvement' that's council organised or funded, like this or the District Heat Network works needs you to add 3 months on to their scheduled completion date. There's always an excuse, despite trial holes, ground penetrating radar, service plans etc being available. It was scheduled to be completed in March mate so they’ve probably completed all that I hope What was wrong with Joiners Square in the first place? I mean Viccy Road has always been a bit claggy for years but generally the roundabout was never an issue. Two lanes from both sides of Leek Rd and Lichfield Street flowed in general. Now we have a hideously shaped junction that for me will probably make matters worse. Do the suits that decide our City's road structure actually live here and have to put up with the shit we have? I seriously doubt it. The middle of Meir is an absolute nightmare at times, a roundabout with crossings (lights) 20 metres either side of each exit/entry, on the main drag, 100m higher up is another crossing, then, the powers that be decided to make the next two roads on the right which lead to a huge estate one way streets, so all traffic is forced to use one road (Woodville Road) to get down th the Woodfarm estate. They also made this road a bus route ( its very narrow in parts). Madness doesn't even start to describe it. They surely can't live around the city. Makes my blood boil the numpties.

Loved Shaq, hated his idleness and hiding sometimes but generally, and especially in our last season he was a joy to watch. You never realise what you had until its gone. That probably includes Mark Hughes Yep, spot on. For 4 years or so after TP went we had a ball. Theres another thread no doubt on this but, the mis-signings of Imbula Berahino Wimmer started the downfall. No point going over all that again but it was a fantastic period, toying with all of the big 6 at home, especially the Arse I'm old enough to have seen us from 1969 so I appreciate the good stuff, we will get back one day.

I would never say Shaq hided when in a stoke shirt, especially the relegation season. Always wanting the ball and trying to make things happen. Plenty of others went missing but he certainly didnt. That was my point, as I said in our last season he was a joy to watch, he pretty much was all our good bits! Before that though he did have his invisable man moments. We had some talent, Shaq Arnie Affelay Bojan N'zonzi, spoilt we were. Should have built on it but hey ho, better clubs than us have gone pear shaped.

I have taken a punt on Italy after seeing all the teams at least once. They seem to have their mojo back, great attackers solid defence giving nowt away. As Gods says though its a tough call.

I called this after Croatia, I said to the lad that the Jocks would come at us gung ho, played with no heat in a typical English climate they would raise their game tenfold. The question always was how do England react. We have our answer, caught like a rabbit in the headlights, not helped by under performing seasoned pros who are badly out of form ( Kane Sterling ), scaredy cat Safety Sam tactics ( two holding midfielders ) subbing off for the second game running your most creative player (Foden). One of our midfielders needs to play the Hudson role, pick the ball up from the back and nurse it through, there was a huge hole in there tonight. Shaw for me was wrong, Chilwell offers far more if you have to play a back four, Walker over James, pleased to see Mings hold his place, bar one error when he slipped he had another good game. Two years ago this team was playing with no fear and scoring for fun, we have now struggled to beat Austria Romania Croatia and Scotland. We have attacking players other teams would be gagging to have, Southgate has to find the right balance, but most of all show some balls and take games by the scruff of the neck and go for it. Fortune favours the brave.
