Brought a smile to my face listening to the fans last night which was fantastic as haven't really done much smiling watching Stoke for a while!

Although the words tin and pot come to mind when describing the board, I'm not going to hold it against Lambert.
It's not his fault he got the job, it's not his fault he "impressed" during the interview and it's not his fault the board couldn't get anyone better. As a manager he has my full support, as a club though I'm so genuinely sad at the state of affairs.

This is all a big PR stunt.. MON has signed, but the club have leaked rumours he has turned us down and that we are going for Lambert instead.
When he is finally unveiled it'll feel like we've won the lottery and everyone will forget how depressed we all were about him joining 24 hours ago....
... if only

I wonder how many of our players were not first choice signings? I would guess at least half of them. First or second in this game I don't think it really matters. Not the best analogy looking at the state of half our players at the moment but I get what you're saying.

I know you don't even get half of the full picture by reading articles and posts by ITKs, but the one thing about this saga that just makes me feel bitterly sad is the fact that Graham Potter is the only person who has seemingly made it public that he'd want to manage us (apart from the odd jokey comment by the likes of Tim Sherwood).
I think that's the real gut punch for me, just the total rejection I feel as a Stoke fan. Now even MON sounds like he is going to make us sweat over a decision.
If this is a 5 year, mega money plan then why HAVEN'T we got the big names lining up? What is so fundamentally wrong and unappealing about our club?

What kind of signings will he want in fairness? Without Googling it, how was he for buying in talent at his previous clubs?

I reckon he will keep us up. Be interesting how much money the board give him to spend this month though.

Well I'll bite. If you mean tomorrow as in today (Friday) then it'd be likely to be MON on the 07.30 from Dublin O'Neill doesn't live in Dublin. He lives in England. Yes but he may be over there handing in his notice

Doesn’t narrow it down between Flores and O’Neill but I know for a fact tonight that Tony Scholes was talking to someone about a flight landing at terminal 3 in the early hours of tomorrow morning. Well I'll bite. If you mean tomorrow as in today (Friday) then it'd be likely to be MON on the 07.30 from Dublin

Hmmm it's all felt like getting to look for a new car, completely bypassing all the hot hatchbacks, and driving off the forecourt in a used Dacia Sandero

Dave, the papers are all pointing towards Martin O'Neill - any other options being considered ? How many on the shortlist ? Yes Are most of them out of work or are we looking at managers currently in a job? Also are we only looking at managers with Prem experience?

Don't think that will happen Any clues on nationalities for these 2 managers on our shortlist Dave? Would Irish and Spanish be accurate?

I believe there is more than one Davesviews and I also believe that he may not know as much as he once did, or at least choose not to share as much. In certain fact he used to get stuff absolutely spot on, and anyone who witnessed his "Stick Sky Sports News on" post a few years back, literally minutes before breaking news hit the screen, should know he definitely knew/knows stuff that only people inside the club would know. So by following DV you actually got to know stuff literally minutes before it broke on Sky Sports News? That must have been extremely beneficial. No not at all, I used to regularly love reading and following the transfer threads from 10 years ago or so, it's what made me sign up to the site in the first place. I never "followed" anyone in particular at the time, but I definitely witnessed on that occasion Davesviews being "ITK" (which I believe is what this thread is about?). There were other occasion's when he named names and also come out with stuff absolutely bang on. Enough to realise he definitely knew what he was on about. Personally I've not seen anything specific posted by him in the same ilk though for a good few years so understand why some people are dubious.

If we raid Derby's coaching staff can we nick Rory Delap back as well? Think our squad could do with some 2008 fighting spirit back around the place. Would delap come as part of Rowett backroom staff or was he there before Rowett? Before I think? However Glyn Hodges has left as our under 23 coach so we are after a replacement.

Rowett was virtually sold when Coates got him the early morning pint of Wainwright's, but once he saw he'd ordered him the full English with extra black pudding, he knew Stoke were the team for him!

I'd have to say if we sign a foreign manager then Rafa must be at the top of Coates' list. I assume they may already have spent some time together, as didn't Rafa used to hang around quite a bit when we were in the Europa League? Seem to remember him spending time with the club, and being best mates with Pulis while he was between jobs, before going Madrid.

I didn't get where I am today without awaiting a picture of him in a kebab house to appear on this thread. Will a MS Paint reconstruction I made 8 years ago suffice?

Bought my tickets in H1 and priced up flights from Manchester and a 2 night stay in the Ibis for just over £200 all in for 2 people (or half that if I can convince the missus to let me have a pass out on my own!). St Pauli has been my second team for years and can't believe I'm finally going to see them, even better that it'll be along with a load of fellow Stokies! I'm going to be around the Reeperbahn pre match so I'll be on the look out for red and white

The more I see of him (on and off the field) the more I like him. As far as the traditional Mark Hughes Leftfield, straight out of nowhere signings go, I'm quite pleased with this one!

Shirley not!!! Didn't Jose call him a massive child, or something similar, regarding his time at Inter??? he has matured since then though I know that and most Stoke fans know that but is Mourinho going to know that for sure? And I know Jose is a bit of a media whore but to publicly pick out and criticise a player as he did with Arnie at Inter I just couldn't see him wanting to go back in for him, stranger things have happened though granted... Plus Utd are going to be going a bit mental when it comes to transfers this season and Arnautovic, if he is an actual target, won't be a "plan A" target I wouldn't have thought.
