Sid Never mind my pipe , Your smoking something too strong for you if you don't believe the manager is at some risk . "Separate the person me " from the problem many very rational posters on here are articulating without emotion a 50/50 view on the manager as results tailspin and big money signings fail to convince . Its only natural that those about to entrust the manager with the £40'million or so required to transform this squad might pause to be totally sure they still believe three years on he is the man to put their trust in . It's naive in the extreme to think they won't ask the question of themselves is there someone better equipped to take us to the next level the investment merits . Personally I'm glad im not the one to make the call as I think it's a very tough one he has had on balance three good years but he same could be said of say Jose at Chelsea first time round but it's the last 10 games that force change not the previous 150. My only hope is we don't fall between the two decisions with a wait and see mix and mend approach . Hughes is now under pressure, make no mistake of it but that doesn't mean we should go all gung ho & sack him at the end of the season. The big money signings deserve more time to adjust to the premier league. Hughes' record at the transfer market has been very good so far. Players like Pieters, Bojan, Arnie, Affelay, Odemwingie, Moses etc have all come good. Imbula doesn't even understand English yet so I think he deserves more time to prove his worth. Shaq has been a hit-miss this season, much like Arnie in his first. Some people are suggesting Moyes but are we really willing to risk someone like him. Clearly he's a man who knows what it takes to finish in the top half but let's be honest, he's also flirted with relegation more than once. If we're going to fire Hughes, let's at least take a step forward & bring in a younger, hungrier manager.

Anybody who questions Ryans importance to our team is a complete fucking bell end who also knows piss all about football. I'm not questioning his importance to the team but that's the umpteenth mistake he's made since his return. Surely we must consider dropping him for the next game.

We have to assume that he just needs a rest over the summer and go from there. I'd still like us to sign 2 first-team quality centre backs though just in case. The truth is Fergie fooled all of you. average at his best. Looked good in a Pulis team to people who don't know what a good centre half is Were you saying the same thing when we went over 530 mins without conceding a goal when Shawcross returned to the team in September this season?

Another woeful display from our skipper. What the hell was he doing during Palace's first goal? Don't get me wrong, the guy has been a great player for Stoke & he's a fabulous captain but he seriously needs to dropped in the next game. We haven't won since his return (in fact ironically the one game we did win was against Watford when he was out injured). And he doesn't even look like he's carrying an injury, he's just been in terrible form. Wolly took the bullet after the game against Man City although Shawcross was the one responsible for 3 of their goals. With all that has been said & done, we still haven't won a game in any competition when Wolly hasn't started.

I hate to say this after one season, but I'd swap Shaqiri for Bolassie in a heartbeat. At this point, I'd swap him for any Stoke player aside from Arnie.

Of all our players in the second half, Ireland is the one who looked like he actually gave a fuck, which is rather worrying considering he's probably off next season. His pass for Arnie in the second half is the exact sort of pass we've been hoping to see from the likes of Shaq & Bojan. Of all the players on the pitch, why is he the one who's being targeted? Typical of Stoke fans really. Constantly applauding the untouchable Barca boys & jointly denouncing the players who actually care about the club. I actually agree. He looked alright I thought, apart from not tracking runners once or twice. Useful player re: an eye for a defence splitting pass, but I think his time is over here unfortunately I would agree but why is he getting so much stick? Bojan came on & did fuck all.

I wonder if he wants to be. He has restored his reputation and may be thinking about a bigger club; a rubbish end to the season may make Stoke more willing to let him go if approached! In an ideal world for him we would sack him and he could walk in to the Everton job with a nice severance package; unfortunately for him I can't see that happening. Only a Stoke fan could come up with a ridiculous statement like that, based on no evidence whatsoever.

Its the patterns of play that are so painfully predictable, combined with the lack of knowledge in how to attack. Its sad to watch, the hole in the middle of the pitch from when nzonzi left is still there imo Let's be honest that hole will never be filled. We'll never find another player who'll run 260 miles in 38 games. We need to rethink our midfield strategy. Hughes, if he's still here next season, needs to model his team around the likes of Imbula & Shaqiri. Now that we've spent a good deal of money on these 2 players, we better start playing to their strengths.

If you're judging the state of the club based on the home crowd, we went stale sometime in 2010. But I agree it's certainly looking rather tedious these days.

I'm not so sure! Before anyone jumps at me I'm not necessarily saying that he should go. Just a weird feeling that he's lost some control and respect and although I know he's never been the outrageously demonstrative type he does seem to be at a bit of a loss as to what to do next. I realise our season has been stop-start due to injury after injury and that must take the wind out of your sails when you have to keep chopping and changing BUT we seem to have lost the passion and the fight which sometimes means that the Boss has lost that too. Now, pepple dont get to be multi-millionaires/billionaires without a ruthless business streak. I'm intrigued by the fact that a few years ago when Benitez was twiddling his thumbs he seemed to spend a bit of time hanging out with us. Friend of Tone's? mate of Uncle Pete's? Funny as he's back in the country which he's made home but a little far away in the North East. We'd now be perfect for him. I wonder if someone's been whispering similar words in Mr Hughes' ear? There's nothing like feeling you've lost the support of your upper management to put a dampener on things and players can always tell when something's amiss and usually let it effect them, bless 'em I could be talking complete hogwash though.Just a few thoughts like What the actual fuck ??? Is this how we treat the man who took us to a league cup semifinal this season & has already broken our record point tally 2 years in a row, by talking behind his back about a possible replacement while he's in charge? This is the sort of crap you expect at clubs like Chelsea & Citeh, not Stoke. If the time comes & Hughes loses the trust of the board, he goes. Simple as that but there's a certain way to treat people & this is just ludicrous. Benitez has already turned us down twice. If you could convince him to come, I'd happily give Hughes his resignation check but it's not going to happen and we probably can't even afford a manager of his stature. Hughes is the lowest paid manager in the premier league. He's not here for the money, he can fuck off whenever he wants & earn twice the amount of money. There's more than enough clubs across the world who'd be happy to have him as their manager. He's here only because Uncle Pete requested him to take over Stoke. So show some respect, you might miss him once he's gone.

I think Hughes might well jump ship if given an escape to Everton?? maybe to get out before the wheels fall off? He has come out & explicitly stated that he isn't going anywhere (unless of course he's forced out).

We tried didn't we? They were quite clear that they weren't going to sell him. Would be a great replacement for Arnie.

Looks like it could be another humiliating defeat for Everton the way the game is planning out. Have they had a shot on goal till now? Seriously not worried about Everton finishing above us. As shite as we've been, they're still worse. When you look at the Everton side individually, it really is incredible how poor they collectively are as a 'team'. They have been so poor in this half, it's shocking really. Martinez for Barcelona ....

give me a Pulis competitive & physical edge with pressing football all day over pretty/unpretty slow paced posession football. If Pulis played square pegs in square holes, fullbacks as fullbacks, looked up the table instead of down, did away with bonus games, and added a sprinkling of effective flair he'd be the perfect manager imo Pulis & perfect manager cannot be mentioned in the same sentence together unless of course the sentence is "Pulis isn't anywhere close to being a perfect manager". If Pulis did all those things you mentioned, he wouldn't be Pulis, he'd be Mourhino.

Taking Adam and Shaqiri off totally blew my mind today and that's saying something judging by the amount of shit substitutions he does. Imbula must be unsubable judging by that second half performance. Shaqiri was woeful throughout the game & shouldn't even have started imo. But Adam? Wtf was he thinking?

Wolly is once again the scapegoat. He was our best defender for a long spell during the season & although he's been woeful recently we still haven't won a game when he hasn't started. And speaking of being woeful, why does Shawcross get into the team? Terrible again today. Sad to say but I think Ryan's best days have gone ,he as never been blessed with pace but his injury seems to have slowed him down even more and lacks the ability to turn.Back injuries can be career ending at the top level. So sad I think you might be right to an extent. He may never reach the same heights he reached before his injury but he's still our skipper & I would try to get him as fit as possible for next season.

5 - A fantastic first half display, don't think they had a single decent attempt at goal & we could've been out of sight if Shaq & Crouchy had converted their chances. The second half was one big shower of shite. Once again our defenders & keeper put in a hopelessly incompetent display. Wtf was Ryan doing in that first goal? And Haggaurd once again let in an embarrassing goal. Time to give Bachman a game against West Ham. Hughes' response to their equaliser was equally underwhelming to say the least. Why take off Adam, instead of Whelan, who was having a shocker of a game?
But even with all that said we still should've pulled back level when Ireland released Arnie with that peach of a ball.

Swansea play Man City in the final day so here's hoping City win that game. Watford play against Liverpool on Sunday (which they will hopefully lose) & then play against 2 teams fighting against relegation (Norwich & Sunderland). Can't see them winning both. And as for Everton they play against Leicester later this evening & I think they could take something from the game (considering Leicester will be in party mode). But Martinez generally always fucks up against lower teams at home. They play against Norwich & Sunderland as well & here's hoping they drop points in both games. But now it's not up to us, we'll be anxiously looking over our shoulders for the next 2 weeks.

Crouch has been 4th choice striker and took his chance last week, deserved to start today. Manager is to blame for the result from his shit subs. He hasn't scored all fucking season. Why are people ok with this? He has played just 4 premier league games all season, 2 of which were thumpings against United & Liverpool.

Haugaard is clearly not ready to be playing in the premier league. I wouldn't get rid of him just yet. Send him out on loan to the championship for a season & we might see him come good.
Muniesa - Not good enough at defending Diouf - Not a natural goal scorer Tex - Haven't seen him play, need to sell him Wolly - Was our best defender for a long spell in the season & let's not forget we still haven't won a game when he hasn't started, he's been woeful of late but it would be ridiculous to sell him.
And by the way just so you know, Shawcross was fucking terrible today. If he doesn't get his shit together, he needs to dropped next week. The fact is we haven't won a single game since he returned from injury (in fact the one game we did win was when Wolly & Cameron played together in midfield).
