I've thought it has been pretty pretentiously wank so far in the main but this octogenarian is a different level entirely- how good must they have been in their prime! Brilliant so far.

If Noel Gallagher doesn't headline within the next year or two I will show my arse in Burtons window... I may be biased but that was top notch๐๐ He'll only be headlining when Oasis get back together. Same goes for Liam.

So McCartney is going to be the first (and only?) act that they're not going to stream live, even though the press in the last hour have been reporting that they will ... Yeah it's a bit shit. They did the same with the Stones a few years back.

Noel G was great.
Watched Confidence Man's set from yesterday. Absolutely smashed it. Glad they're getting the recognition they deserve.
Flicking between Caribou and Yungblud until Macca starts.

What's people's thoughts on the Idles? I watched a bit of their set last night and coincidentally the last time they played Glasto and find them fascinating to say the least! Can't bloody understand a single word of any of their songs mind!! They're not for everyone but for me they're one of the best live bands in the world. Been lucky enough to have seen them 5 times and they've been brilliant every time. Best starting with 'Joy as an act of Resistance' then 'Brutalism'. 'Ultra Mono' their 3rd album was a bit of a duffer but their last album was a big return to form.

Wonder if he's got anything lined up? I replied on my Derby mad cousins Facebook page that he must be off somewhere and my dear old mum replied that yes, he's on holiday with his family lol.

Yeah I couldn't believe how small that crowd was. A mate tipped me off about Con Man a few years ago saying they were like fatboy slim with a female vocalist. Probably the most fun I've ever had at a gig. How she puts that amount of energy into her dancing and still manages to sing at the same time is astonishing. She must literally be as fit as an athlete.
I've seen her up close. She is very fit!

Really enjoying this Billie Eilish set. Thought Robert Plant and Crowded house were poor. Enjoyed the JAMC more than I thought I would. Confidence Man and First Aid Kit were as great as always. Confidence Man were one of the standout acts of the day for me. Robert Plant & Alison Krauss however, dear me, what a load of self indulgent twaddle, I was reaching for the Mogadon at times ... I've genuinely never seen such a small audience in front of the Pyramid stage at that time of day.

First Aid kit at Piece Hall in Halifax.
Think it might be the best gig venue I've been to in all my years of gigging. Sound and view were superb as were the staff, bars, food and toilets. Very very impressed.
Cmat, Irish country artist was great support and can easily seeing her getting very big. Got some great songs and a great voice.
FAK were sublime.

Speaking of prices, I think they'll be some decent cheap tickets to had this summer. ยฃ15 a ticket for the Paul Weller, Elbow and Simply Red gigs next month at Lytham Festival to be had here. I've gone for Elbow with Richard Hawley and Badly Drawn Boy supporting and will drive before heading back the next day on the piss for the Strokes (full price sadly) centraltickets.co.uk/Home/allevent#Nice LGBT category on there, more exclusion for the masses Doubt they'd be checking when you ahem....gain entry.

Anyone else think Politics needs a separate place on the messageboard? I've suggested this, many many times. It does have a tendency to drain all the fun and civility out of the board.

Chili Peppers are playing Old Trafford (cricket ground) on Wednesday. Whilst not a massive fan they'd be one to tick off the list and I'm only 15 minutes away, plus Thundercat is one of the supports. Thought there may be some cheap tickets knocking about but full price ones are 97 English pounds so even if I got them for half price it's still a fair whack. Might put some low ball offers on twickets and hope I get lucky.

Please Please not the World Cup in the USA. I find the them an awful host and only the SA world cup has been worse in my time. Only watched 94 on TV but apart from the final it was quite entertaining wasn't it? One of the best ones imo

Done two gigs in one night this evening down in that London. First was Antipodean psyche exponents Pond (Tame Impala side project) at Electric Ballroom Camden, then Uber'd it across town (on the promoter's expense account, obvs) to catch Stephen Fretwell in the sumptuous setting of St. Magdalen Church in North London. Pond were ace but the what a pleasant surprise Fretwell turned out being. Didn't really know much of him other than that the theme to 'Gavin & Stacey' is one of his tunes, plus solo acoustic singer songwriters are not really my bag (give me Orbital, Underworld, Depeche Mode and/or New Order any day over an earnest noodler). That said however, his performance was truly mesmeric - to pull that off in front of 300+ people and have them sat beguiled in silence anticipating every note and lyrical vignette, just as one self-deprecating bloke with a battered acoustic guitar, was really something to behold. Hat's off to you Mr Fretwell - you've gained a new fan tonight ๐ Just realised Pond were at Manc Academy tonight, would have gone to that if I'd have known/remembered. Was Kevin Parker at the side of the stage?

I think this European Court ruling suspending the Rwanda flights is going to play right in to the governments hands with these 2 by elections coming up. Flying half a dozen down trodden folks of colour to Rwanda is a bad look, picking a fight with anonymous 'leftie' lawyers in Strasbourg is exactly where they want to be. I predict they will now win at east one of them and perhaps both. They were well beaten before this. I think they'll get twatted in both.

Could have gone to see Barry Manilow for free tonight but couldn't be arsed. You not a fanilow? Don't mind him tbh, and I reckon I'd be the only person maybe in the world who'd have seen Napalm Death and Manilow in the space of 2 weeks. Still can't be arsed though.

Got back from Primavera Sound in Barcelona yesterday. Monster line up, despite the Strokes pulling out last minute.
Best - Mavis Staples, Disclosure, Idles, Nick Cave, Caribou, Fred Again, Beck.
Rest - Fontaines DC, Gorillaz, Tame Impala, Napalm Death, The National, Jawbox, Shame, Mogwai, Charli Xcx, Weyes Blood, Sharon Von Etten
Mess - DJ Shadow, Black Country New Road, the Strokes pulling out, the bar queues on day 1 which were massive and bar prices at 9 euros a pint. Journey back was horrendous as well.
All in all, 9/10, so much better than the last time I went in 2016.

For JRM and his comments this morning I want Johnson to lose by just 1 vote

Only 125 so far have publicly announced they will back him. May had the amount she needed publicly backing her by 1.30pm on the day of the vote about her leadership. Johnson well behind in that respect but I guess it is much harder to publicly justify backing Johnson today than it was May in 2018 as the electorate are so against Johnson it is harder for MPs to publicly support him. Priti Patel hasn't yet, oddly. Johnson probably throwing her under a bus in his upcoming reshuffle.
