Wonder if he's got anything lined up?
Looked like he was only staying because his agent had a cosy relationship with Kirchner.
A Champo club will take a punt on him

He stuck around longer than most would have. And the EFL has allowed Derby to hang around longer than, hell it's got to be some sort of record.

He's earned some respect for sure
Atm if I was him would wait till November when there will be largest spike ever in job vacancies in top two divisions re the World Cup break
Good with young players generally wants to play on the deck and clearly loyal (most managers would have quit months ago)
Still to prove he can achieve success of course

He'll need a break after that nonsense. Hope he gets a good job in the future. Deserves a break. Done way better than I ever thought he would.

Did a good job on a shite budget with bleakness behind the scenes
Perfect for us surely? 🤔😲

We could, when the job becomes available. Rooney would be a perfect fit for us. Sadly for him, he'll be 65 by the time the job becomes available again...

Well he certainly walks away with a much enhanced reputation - not many (me included) could have foreseen the excellent job he has done.

If I were him I'd take a few months off and spend my time lounging about in the sun, trolling the Vardys for shits and giggles.

He’d probably pay an old woman a lot of money for that.

He’d probably pay an old woman a lot of money for that. “He’s just a fat granny shagger, fat granny shaaaaaagger!” Loved that chant, simple but effective😀

I would take five more years of O’Neill’s mediocrity over being constantly called “Wayne Rooney’s Stoke”.

A forward thinking club would do it now.

Hopefully he’ll have few months off to recharge the batteries before coming to save us from our inevitable capitulation in the new year.

I did wonder when Rosignor turned down the Blackpool job if he’d been tipped the nod that Rooney was bailing.

Done well but I will reserve judgement until he does it at a more stable club.
Very different scenario managing a club with a siege mentality and nothing to lose. No real expectations on him or the players. He could only enhance his reputation really.
