Lets face it now -we're no better or worse than any other teams fans now
All this bullshit about us being the best and loundest fans IS a myth
'delilah' is tired and worn (we clap ourselves after it - how fucking lame is that ?)
'Oh when the reds' is another teams anthem (at least 2 actually)
We have a stadium announcer who shouts MAKE SOME NOISE ! (fucking idiot!) (Id happily cosh him with his microphone)
BUT worst of all, we now boo the fuck out of our own team when they play badly at home (spurs Last week, a distant memory to the complete dumbrains who actually booed MY fucking team off ! )
(poor as they were 2nd half - they didnt even lose mind)
SORRY chaps - apart from the hard core - (the old 10-15 thousand thats been going for years )
we're 'nowt' special any more
the dickheads morons and part timers have now taken over
it was good ---while it lasted

When around 40% of the our 'supporters' are glory-hunting scrotums, what can we expect?

"and we now boo the fuck out of our own team when they play badly" ??? ??? A small minority (I have never booed my team BTW) who were rightly unhappy at the abject decision making of the management and garbage second half display by the team. Hardly booing the f*** out of our team I'd say

I thought it was pretty loud and, a turning point in the relationship between team and fans
If Id have been a player - at the end - Id have been thinking ---- 'ok we were crap second half '
'but this fucking bunch have turned on a dime'

But at least there was noise for most of the game. If you go to Burnley, they're quiet and clap along to some song after they score. If you go to Wigan, it's silent apart from a group of kids near the away end who incessantly sing that awful 'ode to joy' thing. Birmingham is half empty and quiet, Everton stay sat down quiet for 90 minutes, The Shit fans at the Theme Park are silent, The Kop don't turn up to most games, Arsenal are gentile, Chelsea are awful and despicable, Portsmouth are about half as loud as us and have history's most irritating songs, Hull are mediocre and Bolton are very quiet.

I reckon a repeat of the 80th. minute Man City roar could have made a difference yesterday. Let's back beheind the team more often at home, away we are top notch.

Some people make out that we're pathetic at home this season, but when you compare the noise we make to every other club in the league we're still miles on top - the loudest fans I've heard away from Home are Spurs fans and even then we're still way ahead of them in terms of noise / singing throughout.

I thought it was pretty loud and, a turning point in the relationship between team and fans If Id have been a player - at the end - Id have been thinking ---- 'ok we were crap second half ' 'but this fucking bunch have turned on a dime' Was your hearing aid turned up too high? And the fact that a few fickle fans booed at the end of what was as abject a display as I've seen for a long time (second half) would take an even more fickle set of player (which I doubt they are). So stop your moaning and attempting to divert attention away from the glaring cock ups that your messiah made yesterday and tell it as it was a disastrous second half display not helped by some diabolical decisions by the management.

this thread is NOT about whether we're louder or quieter than last season !
its about us LOSING IT as a loyal, tribal, SUPPORTIVE set of fans 'apart from the rest'
pure and simple !
(In my book we've alot to make up for now after last evening shameful outpouring of predictable dross from the stands)

I'm yet to attend an away match this season in the Premier where any opposition fans have out sung us and that's generally with a 10-1 + ratio. Our support is still the best at any ground although it's not as good as last year and our away support is immense and unrivalled as far as I'm concerned.

When around 40% of the our 'supporters' are glory-hunting scrotums, what can we expect? -------------------------------- Worth remembering that the 40 percenters help pay for the quality NOW affordable on the pitch. See what would happen if you went back to 15000+ gates in the prem. And see what type of quality player would be eager to sign for a club with a half empty stadium. The 40% have their worth in more ways than one.

We are pretty poor, to be honest. But there were loads of times last season when you could hear a pin drop.
I rarely join in any singing as every song, with the exception of 'the Reds (which I detest - it's been brought back by the 70's gloryhunters), is sung WAY TOO QUICKLY.
I really can't be bothered to sing ten words a second to keep up. The songs are over before they've begun and we're back to silence again for 20 minutes.
Seemingly gone are they days when we could keep songs going like 'barmy army' and 'go on Stoke'. It's just a rush to finish them. And once they've finished you're bound to be left with silence as our repertoire is so limited.
The best atmosphere has always been during waves of attack and this is a rarity because it's not the way we play. Yes the atmosphere should be good if not better when we're under the cosh but it rarely happens that way.

In context we are still louder and more passionate than most at home and as good as anyone away from home
Friend came for WHU game (1st this year) and commented after that we were as loud, if not louder than last

Well said Mac, but I can understand gettin pissed off with our own. I'm lucky, I sit in Block 22, and the people around me are sound, but it must be a fookin nightmare if you get stuck next, or in front of someone who is fookin moaning all the time, that really fries my head! That's where the Terraces were good, you could just move!

I would say that we were as loud in parts. What there hasn't been in the main this season is being able to prolong the noise, probably down to apathy, which is quite sad.

agree with all that excpet the booing part !! while im not a politically correct person, (thank god) i think that a paying fa, has evry right in the world to voice the disappointment of a 2nd half of utter crap from both the players and manager !! when a team;s fans start to expect what they deserve, in thsi cse a win, and dont get it, please let it be known that results like that are not going to be accepted by the fans ! as i said in a prior post, expect more and eventually you will get it !!
