I really hope TP plays Tuncay for the full 90 as it would be a great opportunity for him to show his credentials against another premiership team.
I see the team is flying down, a charter plane just left Plymouth to pick them up from East midlands.
Stoke 3 Pompey 2

It says they are booked in for a return flight at 11pm.
I assume Tone isn’t banking on extra time then!!!

---------------Simmo-------------- -Griff------Cort----Higgy------Pugh -Lenny----Aris----Whelan---Soares ----------Kitson---Tuncay---------- Not a bad second string.

If we could get past believing that players aren't able to play two games in a week, then the inclusion of Wilko at right back would allow Griff and Pugh to play in their best positions. Soares has been poor for the reserves this season, personally I would start Tonge (or somebody else) ahead of him. Definitely would prefer to see Tuncay and Kits together up front rather than Kitson and Mama. If Whelan starts, I guess that will indicate that he's not going to start against Wolves. Hope Pulis has a full strength bench (like against Blackpool) again.

I'd go with that - except I'd have Tonge instead of Soares. With Matty and Fuller on the bench to come on and change the game like they did against Blackpool if we need to.

Radio Stoke 12.30 bulletin seemed to suggest Mama WILL start, as opposed to COULD start.
So it'll be interesting to see whether he's partnered by Tuncay or Kitson.

I wish we were taking this, well, just a little more seriously.
I accept that we need to rest players, but the whole 10 outfield ones from Saturday?
I would definitely do as Paul suggests and start Wilko - if he gets injured we have other options at the back despite Huth being suspended. I'd also play Lawrence (as seems likely) and have a very strong bench.
Soares is a waste of a place (I'd have him on bench at a push) at the moment, and Arismendi might be out of his depth too - this ain't Blackpool reserves. If Tuncay fails to start this time, and is on the bench on Saturday, words will fail me!
Hopefully we'll get through, think we could deffo score a couple...just hope we don't have to bring on Fuller Ethers and Whelan to do it, also that it won't go to extra time, and we don't get loads of yellows...
It is worth making a bit of effort even if just for the potential income from a quarter final with one of the big clubs. Must be £1m available? We could replace a portacabin with that.

I am hoping he doesn't start with Mama at the expense of Kits or Tuncay....ok give the lad a bit of a run but starting with him siuggests that TP isnt taking this game seriously which is a shame....I think we might progress further.....surely Tuncs Kits Whelan and lawrence will all start

Does anyone know how strong a team Pompey are putting out? I was impressed with the team for the 2nd half against Blackpool but we were poor during the first 45mins. I want to go to the new wembley with Stoke............

Pompey - surely - will also play their reserves. Somebody posted on here the other day Will that they played a virtual first choice XI in the last round. Not sure if that was the case but somebody was claiming it the other day.

We have sold our initial allocation for this according to the site. Still buy from gate. So I suppose it is a case of hopefully around 1,000-1,600 already sold with 1,000-1,400 buy on the day, in any case well done Stokies. ;D

I didn't expect Whelan to feature, but as he has travelled down with them i would expect him to start now.

They don't have those sturdy benches at Pompey, Paul.
Instead of a good old length of oak they use those fancy Dan sports car type seats.
You are just so not on it, mate ;D

Based on recent reserve games then, could be looking at something like....
Simonsen Griffin-Cort-Higginbotham-Pugh Lawrence-Arismendi-Whelan-Tuncay Sidibe-Kitson
Although he may be tempted to start Amdy Faye ahead of Arismendi, alongside Whelan?
...with a few Academy players on the bench..
Parton McDonald Wedderburn Faye Tonge Soares Moult

I just dont understand we we are not taking thios match seriously. Are fringe players will not be good enough to overturn pompey. He must at least play from the start the likes of Whelan, Lawrence, Tuncay, Kitson and Higgy to give us a chance. The fringe team he started with against Blackpool were getting a stuffing until our big guns came on.
Anyway i'm off to get ready in a min ready for the match. I hope I can report back some good news.

Portsmouth are fielding their strongest available line-up for this gam and they've been playing a damn site better recently than their league position suggests! Got a feeling that we're gunna get ripped to shreds but I'm still lookin forward to it!

I hope Arismendi gets a game, at least then we will be able to see if he's ready to be given a chance against other Premier League opposition.
