If Rangers and Celtic joined the English Leagues could we send the Vale and Hull to Scotland in part exchange? ;D

They wish to join the Premier, because it will benefit them,of course it will, but what happens in a few years time if/when this so called European league starts? They will be off pretty sharpish if they are invovled in it. So bollox to em, let them rot in their own league.

God, remember how much we used to hate the man? Now he literally can't do or say no wrong. Remind me to give people a second chance every time! Times has really changed (but also the size of his wallet as well). Mayhap he has learned from his past mistakes? He seems to be a transformed man compared to his somewhat chaotic former time as chairman of the club. Looks like he has been accepted my the majority of the sceptics after he regained control. Long may it last.

I struggle to understand the Scotchs' argument. So because you have two clubs with a decent number of fans you should be allowed into the Premiership? Is that how it works up in Scotland, promotion and relegation based on attendances? I honestly don't know the answer because I've never punished myself enough and watched a scotch game before.
Would they bring their Champions league place with them into the league, the same place that they so very usefully spunk away season after season? If they got stuck in the Championship would they want to go back to the footballing wasteland that is the SPL?
It's enough of a chore to get to Sunderland so as far as I'm concerned, do one. And before any scotch fans get annoyed I do have a chip on my shoulder. I'm one of the poor bastards that lives in a city that you rather spectacularly trashed on your last crusade past that wall that we put up to keep you rotten little so-and-so's out.

Yeah its morally wrong but if the old firm joining the Premier League makes the League more popular worldwide then surely that only boosts the profile of clubs like ourselves and means more revenue for us. I dont see a problem with it. Id rather play celtic or rangers than hull or bolton.

If we are going to have two foreign teams in the Prem then let’s have Real Madrid and Barcelona!

It flies completely in the face of devolution and the Scots' desire for greater autonomy politically. It's kind of wanting all of the best bits of the cake. We don't need Scottish teams in the Prem and Scotland needs its two biggest teams to stay in the SPL.
If I had my way, Swansea, Cardiff and Wrexham would fuck off back to play Llandrinodd Wells FC within the FAW league and we would have Berwick Rangers back to play in the Blue Square Premier, or such like. The blurring of national boundaries from the historical anomalies of the early days of our respective FA's should be righted.
If we pander to commercial priorities over national boundaries, then FIFA should insist that the British FAs combine as one - which will never, never happen because half the votes in the inner sanctum of the FIFA heirarchy belong to the UK Football Associations.
After all, what next? Let's have Ajax, Feyenoord, Royal Antwerp and FC Bruges in the Prem shall we? Or what about Zurich Grasshoppers joining the Bundesliga?

Bayern Munich and Ajax are big teams playing in leagues that aren't as big as the Premier League, let's get them in.

It would be SSSSOOOOOOO wrong for them to be allowed to come here. Basically theres only two teams in Scotland which means that they both get well supported and both win lots and that gives them the right to just waltz into any league they fancy!
If thats the case we may as well get Newcastle back in the Prem cos they're well supported and lets kick Wigan out cos their gates are poor!
I wouldn't allow them to enter our league in any circumstances just cos they have stitched their league up to ensure they keep winning at the expense of competition they now want to enjoy the fruits of a proper league. Feck em!

Keep saying no Peter.....why the Bolton chairman thinks its beneficial is beyond me ??? If they were allowed straight into the Prem then the whole structure has to change as the Prem clubs will not want to go back to 22 clubs...they only recently downsized. So it would probably mean 22 for the first season and with 5 going down...which ironically would probably include Bolton. So the only way in would be a 2 tier Prem...meaning the bottom half of the current prem would be in tier 2 and wouldn't benefit from the 'increased revenue'. It really is a stupid and morally bankrupt idea with no value to anyone other than Celtic and Rangers.

So the only way in would be a 2 tier Prem... I think this is what Gartside is pushing for. He wants Prem 1 and Prem 2, with no relegation from Prem 2, and 18/20 teams in each. The money gets divided between those teams (which include Celtic and Rangers) and the rest can fook off and go bust. It means teams like his, which will always flirt with relegation, will not be affected as much financially when they do go down. And it means teams like Vale, in the bottom tier, can forget about ever reaching the Prem. It stinks IMO. The fairest way for Celtic and Rangers to join our league would be to stick them in the Conference (or lower) and make them work their way up, like everyone else. Even then I don't think I'd be too happy about it.
