We had a similar situation at this stage last season, on the very same Sunday against Portsmouth. They had played till midnight in Portugal. We still lost.

agreed boweryboy, this is our chance to test their tired legs and minds, awful colnditions last night, the fact that they can hardly put a team out, they were without 10 first teamers last night so lets go everton and get them on the back foot early, they have a lot of young kids who probably cant get motivated for the visit of stoke so lets get into them and get the points! time to be adventurous mr pulis! have you got the balls??

Great post.
Amazing how quiet Pulis is when the team we are about to face has had a midweek game in europe travelling etc etc the odd knock here and there and he still does'nt big up our chances or talk about going there test there drained minds and body's because he knows he is going to set us up so they get at us and make it a glorified training session!!!
We will no doubt 'Defend our way to Defeat!!!

Remember No Jaglielka,Areteta,Neville,Lescott sold who scored against us last season as did Jo who took a knock last night so there team is certainly weaker than last season,Yakubu is still getting back to fitness and Saha but if they are worrying about us with the ball those two wont get a touch or any service ITS HOW WE SET UP that see's the outcome of this game.

It's ever likely you guys get upset when we lose. You're distraught now and we don't kick off for 48 hours.

It didn't help us at Pompey last season despite them still playing in Portugal on the Thursday night at about midnight.

Even TP has come out and said we have lost the surprise factor this season so its going to be aaaaaarrrrrder.well to be honest i didnt think we had a surprise factor away from home and we were totally predictable.and now are in danger of being the same at home as PULIS shoehorns Huth and Collins into the side......

IMO, anyone who actually believes the title of this thread is heading for disappointment. This will, as ever, be a tough game for Stoke.

We have the players to get at any team and to do there best and see what happens we will go along with that but its if they ARE ALLOWED to and to express themselves but Mr Negative said after the Blackpool goal feast that he preferred to win 1-0..that really says it all about the boring bastard!!!

OK, we played defensively against liverpool/Man United and Chelsea. That was a result of Pulis being shit scared of the oppositon and I think it will always be in his make-up to use such tactics against those opponents. I don't think it's fair to say that we played in a negative manner against Burnley, Sunderland, Bolton or Birmingham. It is very early in the season and we have played 7 games. We controled large portions of the game away at Bolton and Birmingham and were 'undone' by a stupid mistake at Bolton when they 'inevitably' tried to get back in the game. The criticism's above and since the United match are valid only for the games against them, Liverpool and Chelsea IMO.
