Can I just say i'm bored of Pro Evo now. This new one needs to be better than FIFA was last year.
For the record i'm a Pro Evo fan, and that is that but having played 09 all year it has lost its charm now and i can't be arsed with it!

There is always going to be the PES/FIFA arguement. 1st impressions of the demo arent filling me with any confidence. The movements just dont seem to be as fluid as the fifa demo and i cant feel the fun element that makes me want to play the game again and again and go out and buy it.

I'm downloading it at the moment but what pisses me off the most about these arguments is that the people who accuse others of being 'a fanboy' are usually the biggest fanboys going After playing the FIFA demo, I can't see anything massively different to 09 but then again they didn't need to make changes IMO. FIFA 09 was near perfection in terms of playability and gameplay. PES2010 needs to be, for me personally, something that goes back to PES3 or 4 where I could sit there for hours and hours and not get bored of it. Give me that Konami and I will be happy enough Sadly though, if PES doesn't come close and isn't an enormous step up from 09, I fear for the titles future against FIFA Also, for the record, I've been playing ISS/PES since the days of the N64 and this could well be the first year where I haven't bought ISS/PES. Sad times..

It's fun but ridiculously arcadey, can imagine the full game having no depth at all and literally about 3 hours of gameplay in it. Don't want to play it any more than the demo, it's got nothing on fifa these days unfortunately...Since fifa speeded the gameplay up theres been no competition, and i've had PES year after year until Fifa 09

Same as me Brick I'll keep playing in the blind hope that I'll slowly warm to it but I can't see it happening at this current moment in time

I've only managed to have a quick game. Are there more teams than just Liverpool and Barca to play with?

I liked it. Give me this two years ago i would be proclaiming this is the greatest game ever.
As it stands ive been "fifa-ized" and playing this now feels like playing a PS2 game this animations are so badly done.
Its a decent game but fifa is the closest we got to the real thing right now.
PES has some amazing graphics now though. They need a new game engine BADLY soon

I just can't make my mind up. I think it's one of those where it might grow on me the more I play it

I like it and would play it at a mates house but when it comes down to stumping my cash up its on Fifa all day long right now.
Things i hate about PES demo is how slow and not responsive everything is. This is strange as PES was always the best for no input lag. I also dont like how much the wings are exploied i can run my RB or LB righ to the other end of the pitch un challenged,
I like how the through balls find the strikers realy well just ahead of them. Shooting is nice apart from how slow it is to execute.
The CPU is millllllllles more clever than FIFA. i play FIFA 09 on legendary and all the CPU does is cross after cross after cross.

When I get chance to use the tv again I will give it another go, ablit with the keys remapped to fifa style. So use to that layout that trying to remember shoot is actually lob and vise versa is bloody confusing.

Only problem with being so use to one or the other game. You get so use to the control system so when thrown in the deep end on the other you have to remap to fit what you are use to. Goes back to the bloody awful days of Fifa 97 to the brilliant at the time World Cup 98

Can I just say that the PES demo is absolutely dreadful. Slow, poor control, unrealistic etc etc. Until last year I was a PES man all the way but was persuaded to buy FIFA 09. I cant really see me reverting back to Pro Evo to be honest.
Pull your finger out Konami!

Wow, that was bad. I mean dreadful.
The fist notion is the control, its far too ridgid, after playing the Fifa demo, its no where near as fluid.
The response time is awfull I dont know how many shots were squandered becuase it took far too long to shoot after I had pressed.
The goal keeper was just dog shit, absolutely awfull reactions to incoming players and shots. After seeing his efforts afew times and testing them (both mine and the opposition) I tried to keep it as far away from mine a possible, same goes with defensive errors, which in the fifa demo, defenders manage to clean up like Wilko or Ryan and is great to watch.
The player animations in parts are impressive and watching player reactions after a missed shot or at half time, you can imagine it'd be exactally the same in real life, but noticed the pan round of the stadium before a match is 2D.
It looks as though they've made alot of effort in re-creating player likeness's but the over detail of the players makes them look rough and they stand out more than anything else so in essence they can look artificial at times. As for Torres, he looks like he has a terminal illness.
I did see afew little touches I liked such as Torres making a run towards goal, getting inside the area, looking up to goal, but then my shot came far too late after I'd pressed shoot and it was cleared.
All in all, it reminds me of the first ISS for the N64, which was fun in short stints, but with Fifa09 I could play for hours.
I think the die hard PES fans will buy it regardless and some unfortunatly will see through the many faults but the unbiased fans (as Benon here) may play the final product and defect.
I think FIfa 09 really has set the new bench mark and has expanded on the flaws in 10, but PES is now trying to stay above water struggling to contend and has (imo) fallen further behind. The additions they have made to players are good but its not enough to polish over the essential core that is rotting.

accrording to guy named adam, who who is the admin on winning elevens news blog .com, the lag is not in the full version of the game he's currently playing, and the demo is a 70% build of the game, similar to the one used at gamescom at the beggining of august.
the master league is gona be amazing, so in depth.

I'm just glad it's growing on me now 2 things I've noticed from playing it loads, on recommendation of a mate, he said the only way to like it is if you play it again and again.. 1) The keepers are actually quite good for a change. I was playing against Spain and Casillas pulled off several great stops to keep his side in the game. The goal I scored though was a little soft, a 25 yard sidefooted volley which just crept in, but apart from that it's an improvement 2) Opposition defenders. I'm finding it difficult to break a defence down from open play. The defenders seems to back off a little and they've picked off several through balls from good judgement. Again, another positive If that's true Ben then that's great news. I'm just finding something about PES2010 now a bit addictive, I don't know what it is but I haven't had this feeling since PES6

yeh mate, for me the difficulty is what im enjoying most, after about 5 seasons in master league i can useually go unbeaten and win the treble, but i dont think this wil be the case in this one, and i consider myself a pro evo expert,
and with the depth of the master leagues, with all the european liscences, coaching, youth teams and all that, i can see myself getting majorly addicted,
and despite what people may say, there are ways of getting patches onto your xbox 360's. as soon as one is released all my kits will be sorted.

Same with my PS3. There was absolutely loads of patches for the PS3 last time around I still think FIFA10 is the better game out of the two. I'm just finding PES2010 a little different, a little harder and strangely addictive

Right then.. according to the bloke called Adam from WinningElevenBlog.. this is his findings from the Review Code Build of PES2010.. Hey guys,
Thought I would create a thread to talk about things in the review code. This saves people from asking in different threads etc.
I've been playing the game for around 3 hours, and wanted to give you initial impressions.
First of all, the review code is not final code. I think I incorrectly stated this in the past. It seems its around 90%, with the bulk of what will be in the final game. The only thing left to do is polish.
Embargo's are in place, thats why you haven't seen people who have code shout about it and start to detail gameplay details. Luckily, me and Suff can talk about it on the podcast. But this means no videos or screenshots as yet from the code. Don't worry though, as A) you have the demo tomorrow, and B) we will get final retail code early October.
I'm going to be brief and try to do all my explaining in the podcast. So, we'll have some bullet points:
- Response times improved immensely! So happy about this - Defending and collisions with players more realistic than previous code - No excessive use of side foot shot animation, much more variety - Fake teams now licensed, list to follow after embargo lifted - Graphics have been touched up some more, really is incredible - Loads of new faces (Balotelli, Santon etc) - Still 22 stadiums - Edit mode same as 75% version - Penalties still not implemented - More transfers done, but still some left (Sneider to Inter etc) - New subtle animations. Nothing massive, but plenty of little animations to improve the flow of the game - Quite a few licensed bands
Thats it for now. Due to embargo I can't be too detailed in my responses, but feel free to ask questions about certain things. Might be good to wait for the podcast though.
Back to PES 2010!Sounds incredibly encouraging. I know I slated the game when I first picked it up but my God, for some reason it's so addictive. Played it a hell of a lot more than the FIFA10 demo. It's a strange feeling. I know FIFA10 is the better game out of the two by a long way but I just don't find it as addictive as PES2010. Strange stuff..

pro evo has always been a addictive for me,
ever since my mate got it by mistake for christmas, he wanted this is football, he got pro evo one, first time i went up his house i scored a last minute header to make the game 2-2,
from that moment on i havent been able to play a fifa game (not including 09)
i got the game and would reguraly spend 4 or 5 hours tilting my ps2 to try and make it work because the lazer was fucked.
the king will return, weather its this year or not.
