Been keeping an eye on Kiston since he was loaned out to Reading.
Considering this lad was quite a prolific goals scorer for Reading when they were in the Prem, I'd like to know what the hell has happened to him?
He was absolutely rubbish for us and has been garbage for Reading too since he went back. He's late to almost everything and looks totally out of his depth and un interested in anything. He's fluffed a loat of chances and has absolutely no edge as a striker.
What are we going to do with the guy now? He's a very expensive liability and I also fear his moody attitude would affect the dressing room spirit should he come back here?
Wonder what we could get for him now?

Might as well get him back. He can be the new Pericard, keep the crowd off the backs of people actually playing

Agreed absolute pants.
Think the best we can hope for is a season long loan to the likes of a West Brom or Ipswich.
He can hardly run at the moment never mind score goals.

I think Kitson could be our latest "Pericard". Looking on the bright side, our reserve side has sometimes looked as though it could do with a senior player playing regularly to provide the experience that the Academy players lack.

Its certainly a big test for TP
Everyone thought that Kitson was safe bet for £5.5m (maybe a bit steep but it is the premiership) and it backfired.
He did well to do a deal to offload him and cut our losses but now has to do it all again or get kitson off the booze settled down off the smack firing on all cylinders
I wonder how he will fare

Sell him for 2.5 mill to some Championship club, offset what we paid for Beattie as he was worth double what we paid and we will effectively have our money back, if you look at it with a slight slant! H

I can't see Kitson being with us next season. His heart wants to be a million miles away from Stoke and, surely, some poor manager will see something in him over the summer?!
I agree with your theory RAF- £2.5 million would be regarded as 'good' business.

I like your thinking RAF, sometimes certain players just don't gel at a club and it's obvious Kitson and Stoke don't match, how about a move to Hull he could do a double act with Brown,
Tango and Carrot top the new Cannon and Balls.

Tango man refused to pay more than £2.5 million for Kitson last summer. Perhaps he won't have to go above that this summer? He may well fill the void left by Marlon King.

I'm clearly in the minority here but I wouldn't have a problem with him coming back.
They say form is temporary, class is permanent, and I think he is a classy, talented player.
His best game for us was in the Carling Cup against Rotherham - yes a lower division side but a game played with the likes of Pugh, Whelan etc keeping the ball on the floor and passing to his feet.
With the likes of Ethers, Whelan and Lawrence now in the team we are playing more football so perhaps he can still be a success here, because we'd be playing to his strengths.
I still think he could turn out to be a good signing for us.

I'm inclined to agree with you Swanster, although I think it would be an uphill struggle for TP to get the best out of Kitson, and I fear the relationship might be damaged beyond repair.

simple question swanster, how likely is it for a player to have a long term career at a club AFTER he's publicly said it was a "mistake" to sign for them in the first place? hmmmmmmm...toughy

if Kitson could only have scored as many goals for us as there have been threads about in the last two days, things would have turned out very differently

H £2.5 million would be a decent fee. But what Championship club will be able to afford his wages? I don't know what he is on but I bet it is more than most Championship clubs will pay. I have a horrible feeling we may have to do what Leeds did when we got Doobs off them - pay a percentage of his wages for the years remaining on his Stoke contract - 2 years?

I have no doubt the dressing room/ management would be professional about his return, but I can't see him being welcomed with open arms by us after he's stated his "mistake" of coming here. Noticed he's also spending alot of time on the bench than starting games.
