The reason he gave for coming to Stoke was that he was "guaranteed" to play 38 games. I think he underestimated us a little.

What incentive is there for him when he can take 25 grand a week for doing fuck all? Money in football is obscene.

shitson is a lazy miserable twat & unless he comes back & proves otherwise i`ll always hate him for his insulting & childish attitude to our great club. if we can get anything near 2.5 mill for him we`ll have done well. good riddance to ginger rubbish.

Let's hope Birmingham haven't been watching him and still think he's a prospect.
Personally, i think he's a disgrace.

Don't know if he's a 'disgrace' or not but there is something fundamentally wrong with him. Whether it's an atitude problem or a total loss of form or Stoke and now Reading not playing to his strengths, I've no idea. All I do know is that when he did sign, not 12 months ago, he seemed like a class act, so the quicker it's sorted, whatever it is, the better!

y_oh_y, He's got this man-of-the-people thing about him, saying he won't drive a ridiculous car, that he's grounded and it won't let the money or the fame change him as a person, then for over half his time here, proceeded to do precisely fuck all, then the minute he's gone refers to Stoke as "them" or "they" and describing the move as "the biggest mistake of his career". The fact that he had accrued the best part of £750,000 in wages since his arrival seemed to matter not, the main thing is Ginge was happy and that it wasn't his fault. Well what is his excuse now? Personally i'd take a Beattie, who does drive a big posh car but also runs his plums off every saturday over a man who will go down in the annals of Potteries history as the biggest single waste of money since Vale decided to build the Wembley of the North. Kitson's card was marked for me the minute he spouted that melodramatic horseshit about Sonko coming being "a shame". If that ginger cunt is walking round the pitch at the end of the match on saturday i may have to revise my "no booing" rule for Stoke players. Other than that, i have no real feelings on the issue

In his defence he did play a lot of games in a Stoke team that created very few chances for our strikers earlier in the season, and was often played in the hole, he never played in the team whilst Etherington, Lawrence, and even for some game without Whelan in the side.
More often than not he played in front of a midfield which consisted of Amdy faye, Delap, Olofinjana, Diao, Cresswell, and even for the long throws he was pushed out when the big defenders came up, so was feeding on mostly scraps .
I'm not saying non of it was his fault, he clearly was a bit of a mard arse and probably isn't good enough, but he never fit into the system that Pulis plays, whereas Beattie came in a fitted the system like a hand in a glove.

too be honest i never thought much of kitson at reading in the first place, doyle was always the main man there!! I`d have had beattie over kitson anyday of the week at the start of the season. However im not sure beattie was available or if sheff utd were were willing to sell.

Maybe Burnley/Sheff Utd will want him? I think TP should give him a run out against Wigan or Arsenal now we're safe. If he looks like he can improve with our current team then give him a second chance, if not then cut our losses and sell to whoever will have him. I reckon with his current form its all psychological and some form of counseling may help?? Just a thought.

now i'm no fan of Kitson and have been quite upfront about that, purely because i never thought he'd fit in with our style so thought he was a waste (which TP obvioulsy saw too late after forking out a couple of million on him). However, some of the comments on here are a bit overly harsh as HE hasn't really done anything wrong. The fact that he hasn't ploughed in loads for us has surely got to be on both his AND TP's shoulders as to be fair he very rarely even got played and that is down to the manager (very similiar to people booing Cresswell when it was TP that picked him, so surely this is the manager's fault!) Also, i agree that saying it was a mistake to come here has hardly endeared him to most (inlcuding myself) but the vitriol spouted because of that is completely underserved if you read the full quote. He actually said that he had had to compromise his families stability to come here and that was a mistake that he can blame no-one for but himself. Bearing in mind he did shake up his family life to come to a club where he was promised first team football and then having to go back to his former club as TP reneged on that promise, i think he is perfectly entitled to say that it was a mistake as he mucked his family about for nothing.
Personally, i don't want Kitson and never did. Not because he's a bad player (previous stint in the Prem proved he can score goals for the right set up), or because he's a bad person (he wanted to play 38 games for Stoke and bag hatfuls of goals for us but was never given the chance for whatever reason) but because he just doesn't fit into our system.
I hope he does go, and despite the many many jokes i may have made at his expense, good luck to him! I really don't see what he's done to offend us.

I think Kitson could be our latest "Pericard". Looking on the bright side, our reserve side has sometimes looked as though it could do with a senior player playing regularly to provide the experience that the Academy players lack. Yeah.
