Ideally Stoke and Hull could do with winning.

If I was a Hull I wouldnt worry about relegation this year for the very simple reason that they have better players, more points & an easier fixture list than Newcastle.

Despite what this board thinks, you are far from safe, so its best to keep you in the muck. The worst result would be a Newcastle win though, if that happens there will be many nervous fans at several clubs. If you do win however, I think you're safe

I think it would be good for us if Boro win on Saturday; even better if West Brom also get at least a point. We want Pompey and Boro to desperately want points/still be involved when they go to Newcastle. Because if Newcastle win all three at home, they will stay up.
Still, although we aren't safe yet, we're in a very decent position now. Let's just get the job done on Saturday.

I can't really see Boro getting above us now, though (and West Brom certainly won't). If Hull win on Saturday, they are (effectively) safe. I'd prefer them to be kept in it as Newcastle could possibly go on a run. If we win on Saturday, it doesn't matter, though.

We need three more wins under our belt and i think we will be safe.Castle will come here all guns blazing and i thin if we keep our head we will find it easy to break them down. They are very weak in defence and as we all know fuller and beattie can cause mayhem for them.Martins, owen and duff will be there danger men i think but stick tight and jobs a good en.

Boro and west brom wins will be the best for us on saturday imo. I really can't see either of them catching us now so I think its between Newcastle,Pompey,Blackburn,Hull,Bolton and us for that last spot.

Be Hoping for a Stoke victory on Sat ??? If I were them I would be I hope you win on saturday. If Shearer looses both his first 2 games then they are in real trouble. I fancy our chances of a win at boro as well. If we both win then we are 8 and 9 points above the relegation places with 6 to go. That must be the best results for both of us. Then all we would need would be for West Brom to go on a good run (know it won't happen) and for Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Sunderland to all go down :-)

Given a choice, I'd definitely prefer Newcastle to go down instead of Hull or Sunderland.
But I've just got got a nagging feeling that they'll just squirm above the trapdoor.
Having said that, if we get the win on Saturday, it'll be very tough for them and they'll probably have to win all 3 of their winnable home games against Boro, Pompey and Fulham.
But if it's a draw at the Brit or (God forbid) a Newcastle win, I think it could be Tango and the boys making the trip south to the Championship. I just can't see where their points are going to come from. I think they'll probably have to beat us (which is possible) for them to survive if we don't beat Newcastle and all but put it to bed.

As much as the Tango man does my head in... I would still prefer Newcastle, Boro and West Brom to go down!
The Premiership has become predictable the last 5-6 years. So 2 promoted clubs staying up at the expense of 2 established clubs will be more than welcome

To our friends from Hull. It has been lovely to talk to some decent fans this last 12 months, but I think you are in serious trouble. Newcastle will pick up under Shearer and Blunderland should do enough at home. Since early September, I have not been able to see beyond Hull struggling to stay up. I would love you to relegate 2 of the North East clubs, but it is you to go down I'm afraid.

I want Newcastle to join Boro and Brazil in the Championship. If I'm honest I can see both Sunderland and Hull struggling next season so if you add them to the 3 teams that will get promoted this season there should be at least 5 teams below us next season. Here's hoping anyway ;D

I'd like Boro to stay up at the expense of Hull, so I can enjoy that sense of smug satisfaction of knowing that of the three teams that came up only one of them was good enough to stand up to the test.

It's probably not going to happen, but Newcastle going down would be the most hilarious Premier League relegation since Leeds.
