Watched MOTD on Saturday and MOTD2 on Sunday.
Did anyone notice how many teams are now using the long throw - at the start of the season it was us and Bolton, now it seems like nearly every team has a long throw chappie.
Some pundits may ridicule our football but it looks like the managers (ie those with a bit of nouse) can see it works.

Pederson - Blackburn. Remember Phil Tango man saying they had someone who threw it further than Rorybut choose not to use it. Words my eating - put them into an appropriate order! Even Aldershot scored from a big chuck!
Pulis - light years ahead of the rest of the football world!

Wouldn't be surprised if they ban run-ups for throw-ins next year. But Rory will still use his special powers to befuddle the opposition ;D

...and just to show the power of Delap the kids next door to me were playing football on Sunday (in their Chelsea tops) and then decided to start 'doing big throw ins like that Delap player'. The legend of Rory Delap has even impacted on these misguided Chelsea supporting kids

The legend of Rory Delap has even impacted on these misguided Chelsea supporting kids Bloke at work coaches youngsters over in Chester (so you can imagine what a mix of teams they all support). He was telling me the other week he got hit by a stray ball being thrown by one of them all practising throw ins. "They all say they want to be Rory Delap" he moaned. Best thing is he's an Arsenal Supporter! ;D

A throw in can be just as important as a corner or a free kick in a dangerous area.
The advantage with a good throw in compared with a good free kick is the off-side rule.
In many ways having Rory being able to throw with such accuracy, the angle and speed that the ball arrives in the middle, then we or any club would be stupid not to use this option.
It is part of the rules of football so any club or so called expert who complains about it is wrong, they should learn to live with it and open their eyes to just how many teams, including so called footballing teams are trying to use it to their advantage.

i said this everyone is using thgem. The problem is most of them are shite so they are just like a shit cross into the box that can be dealt with. Downings even trying them, perhaps he knows he can't get into the england squad for his football but they could do with a long throw specailst his and phil nevilles were shocking!!

It was Ian Hutchinson of Chelsea that seems to get most credit for starting it and they did win The FA Cup with it. He had quite an unusual cartwheeling motion with his arms after the ball had gone.
