You people with ten toes and ten fingers are soooooo smug! Whats wrong with having a few extra ones I'm sure the additional digits must be quite useful. It's all those other little genetic quirks that I wouldn't fancy! ;D

My son - now 9 Born in Suffolk, but I have supported Stoke all my life (born Kidsgrove) so he had no option. He now is surrounded by Arsenal and Chelsea kids (in Suffolk!) and very sadly few Ipswich fans - I go and see them when Stoke play north of Manchester - sad to see Ipswich slide and Norwich in real trouble and probably drop down (lived there for 5 years but went to Ipswich as mate was Ipswich fan). He is so bloody proud of Stoke this season and wants season ticket again whatever
Real warning there - can remember having to suffer smug Norwich fans when they scored in Europe - but they are in real trouble and Ipswich use to sell out but now we can wander up 20 mins before kick off and get good seats

I've seen him around down this way too! Think he visits a different town every day just to make it look like his club has more supporters dotted around

Bassmaster 0- I bloody well hope you meant that as tongue in cheek
Every football club is built on history - not just where you live, but the passion of generations of fathers encouraging their sons and imparting their passion
Best days with my kid are travveling 3.5 hours each way, talking bout the match both ways, meting fans at service stations, sharing banter. he knows so much about the club
If the increased crowd this season is down to Glory Hunters then so what, that is great for the club because whatever happens some will stay
For the record, not that it matters, we were season ticket holders for last two years together

I live near Loughborough and am surrounded by Leicester, Forest and Derby fans, and obviously a few 'big 4' "supporters ". When i was young my dad used to take me to Forest (around 1996 this is, to be honest i can't really remember much of it ), but my mum(who originates from Stoke) and my cousins (who have lived in Stoke all their lives) wanted me to be a Stokie, so i went to my first game, with my cousins as mascots against colchester in about 1997 i think, the final score was 3-3 i think, and i've been hooked ever since. Only in the past 5 or 6 years though have i really started supporting them properly, by that i mean knowing all the players and who are good and going to the majority of the games, and all with my mum And it's great to be finally in higher divisions than all the local teams ;D Once a Stoke, always a Stokie!

Bassmaster - so what you are saying is forget history/heritage - you prefer only people who are born and always live in Stoke to support Stoke, no one else allowed?

No, Just saying support your local team. My old man was from Neath, I am a Stokie so didn't support Cardiff (or a rugby team). Dress it up all you want, I detest gloryhunting Munichs, Chelski fans etc, as do numerous threads / posters on this messageboard, should I / they have a different view because you are Stoke gloryhunters?

There's a difference between being a "Stoke gloryhunter" (of whom there are several this season born and bred in Stoke), and having a connection / affinity with an area other than the place of ones birth.

Hes gone to beddie byes so is that match over? Sorry to get het up but why do people do this rubbish - we have been crying out for support - seriously why do we care where they come from - the more the merrier - they all come with passion which is more than can be said for West Ham and Chelsea where we went with mates who sat in their end. And core Stokies know how to get hold of tickets, even away games in the main before they sell out. Just gone are the days when you could tip up 15 mins beforehand

Bassmaster - so what you are saying is forget history/heritage - you prefer only people who are born and always live in Stoke to support Stoke, no one else allowed? I totally agree with you mate. He should be happy that people from other places, who have or in my case had local premiership teams around when I was growing up i.e. Leicester, Derby and Nottingham Forest were all in the prem at some point during my early years, but instead i chose to go and support Stoke with my mum, instead of Premiership side(at the time) Forest with my dad! But because i'm not from Stke or have never lived in Stoke, that makes me a glory supporter?! Some people can never be happy.

Are you a closet Manc or Scouse lover but now choose to follow Stoke? By rights I should be a Hereford Utd fan. Closest League team to where and when I was born. But if you feel no affinity there is no bond. STOKE CITY works for me ;D

Happily they are in the very very minority. My mate came with me for 1st time mid week as my son couldnt go (school and back at 1am - even I couldnt justify that - but he called me before game re what was wrong with line up and 8 times throughout game and 20 min discussion after - cost me more than if he came!) So my mate who aint been for ages came in his place (plus cost of ticket) and loved it and wants to take his kid v Midds with us = fab for the club full bloody stop
