No mate, stats don't lie. Villa and Arsenal aside, can you think of a good game he's had?

No i can't rob but the funny thing is i don't think that seyi is really as bad as we sometimes make him out to be. I don't know if it's a confidence thing or what but he does tend to switch off at times,he's got the ability but something seems to be lacking.

Have any of you are that are calling for his inclusion actually seen him play, other than against Villa or Arsenal? He has been woefully bad, can't pass, can't tackle and never looks up to the pace of the game. By my reckoning he is about the 7th choice CM, which is shocking really given the £3m fee and his wages. He did seem overpriced at the time. Phil Brown wasn't prepared to pay anywhere near that. Easy to say now, but a poor signing for you

Would you have the stas for a R Creswell as they may help dismiss a myth or two in the eyes of the supporter or the manager

He has all the attributes but appears to play with such lethargy. He seems to be another of the summer buys who either just hasn't bought into the TP style, or isn't capable of playing the high intensity 100mph game that we require of our midfielders. Like Kitson he seems unsuited to our style and thus equates to 3million spunked up the wall. Its just not happened has it?

True he not be the most effective in the middle so far, but he is not that bad. I have seen Whelan and Salif go through games when they were just as ineffective. Players adjust at diffrent speeds when they move fom one league to another, espeacilly from a lower league to a higher league and this maybe the case for Oli. The subs bench may not be the best place for him to adjust, so a loan move may help.
Regarding Cresswell, his stats are
Richard Cresswell attempted tackles 15 Success 66,7% Interceptions 7 Dave Kitson 14 71,4% 2 Mamady Sidibe 11 100,0% 3 Ricardo Fuller 10 60,0% 1 Henri Camara 5 80,0% 6 James Beattie 2 50,0% 2 Vincent Pericard 0 N/A 0

My biggest problem is that he just doesn't get about the pitch enough, whether that be going forward or defensively. He switches off in our half (and we've conceded goals because of him) and doesn't seem to want to drive towards the oppositions 18 yard box when he gets the ball. The game against Rotherham in the cup was a worrying example, he had rings run round him against a League Two team and that shouldn't happen. Nobody would love to see him turn it round more than me as we are desperate for a box to box midfielder who can dominate games and score goals; if Seyi can turn into such a player then he'd be £3M well spent. Sadly he looks a long way off that player at the minute.

Newcastle, Rangers and Charlton fans laughed when we signed Amdy, but he has by and large impressed me so far. Maybe Oli will aswell, with more time to adjust.

Amdy's actually been playing pretty well though. Wolves fans told us he was occasionally good, mostly anonymous, and he's lived up to that so far.

Hard to disagree with this Wolves appraisal of him, based on what we've seen so far.
The principal problem with Olofinjana is, and I've said this many times, that he can't fulfil the role of any recognised "type" of midfielder. He can't be an attacking midfielder because his shooting is cack, that's why a huge proportion of his goals fall into the "unmissable" category. He can't be a defensive midfielder because he's a fairy. He can't be a playmaker because 90% of his passing is terrible. He can't shift out wide because he's far too slow.
The speed of the prem will do one of two things;
1. Olofinjana will have no option but to speed up his play and think more quickly; or, 2. Games will pass him by at an ever faster rate.
The prem will either bring out what we know he CAN do once or twice a season or it will show the whole world how much of a charlatan he is. Time will tell, but to reiterate someone else's comment on this thread, no matter how succesful he is in the Prem, i will NOT wish for him to be back at the wolves. Ever.
I have been as patient with Seyi as anyone, with the perhaps misguided theory that 'there is a player in there somewhere'. And there arguably is, but we do not get to see it anywhere near enough, over a 4 year period. If he makes it in the prem fair enough, but I doubt there will much improvement on what we have seen.
Most of this years african nations cup past him by as well from what I saw. In fact he was very poor from what I saw.
an absolutely brilliant price for someone who has consistently failed to perform over four years. And I'm not interested if the king of excuses wasn't used to English football/was tired from the Norwegian season/his passing is too good for our players/he had a bad back/he was worried about the African Nations/he was tired from the African Nations/he was deyhydrated, he's been a very poor signing, pound for pound. Contrast the £1.75m we spent on Colin Cameron and the £1.7m we spent on Olofinjana three years later, who had the greater impact?
Hes looked good at times and has undoubted talents. However the doubt is if he's only looked very good at times against clubs at our level what will happen with the step up. He lacks drive and desire for long periods of time and only someone like Hull, Wigan or Stoke (all potential relegation fodder already) will be likely to go for him. No reported interest apparently from anyone likely to finish mid table upwards. Could be another Camera or Soel in no time, but genuinely hope not.
18 goals in 147 appearances = 0.12 goals per game = 5-6 a season. Shouldn't be too difficult to replace, along with his 1-2 assists per year.

Sadly that appraisal has proved to be bang on up to now, it would take a Lazarus like return from him to show himself as a valued member of the team. I really want him to prove me wrong, as it could only be good for Stoke City; but I wouldn't bet on it though.
