he doesnt have flu, Faye has, he has an injury. but he was at fault for the equalizing goal against Chelsea and the 1st goal tonight ! guilty of watching the ball instead of marking his man

Wilko has been out of his depth every game this season, much as I like his commitment to the cause. He's got a brushcut and slags Ronaldo off therefore for some he's described as a legend. (Ditto Dicko). Doesn't make up for the fact he ain't good enough and can't read the game.

Faye, Shawcross and Wilko were all shite first half and a combination of all 3 were at fault for every goal.

I thought Wilko was far too far from Lennon for the first goal. I don't think that was down to anyone but him.

Agreed Fornside, and sadly its not the first time Wilko has been shown to be out of his depth this season. I hate to criticise a player with his commitment to the cause but he blatantly lacks the composure, judgement or nouse to hack it at this level. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I find the blind loyalty some posters show him - despite his errors / recklesness - just as baffling as that which TP shows Cresswell!

He struggled last year. He wasn't a regular and he was never convincing but like Dicko some people will not see his faults

Him and Griff are two peas in a pod for me .... they try hard but they have no pace and are too scared to stand their ground and try and win the ball. Just keep backing off and backing off until it's too late.
Not scared of chucking in the odd tackle from behind though. That's often confused with commitment but to me it's just daft.
Finnan would be the answer in the short term perhaps and i still think Koumas would give us so much more than Whelan. He can turn quickly, make a yard of space and all of a sudden we're moving forward with the ball as a team instead of panicing and punting all the time.
Plus Finnan is abroad and Koumas is at Wigan who are doing well so may be more willing to sell to us.
Shit it's easy from here ;D

Good champ player but is making far too many mistakes at this level. May have cost us a point v manure, at fault at chelsea and again tonight.

I thought Wilko was far too far from Lennon for the first goal. I don't think that was down to anyone but him. He was but he was playing how TP likes his full backs and that is narrow. So he was playing in the correct narrow position but was too far away from Lennon to put a challenge in. He did the right thing in showing him down the left but due to his starting he was screwed.

Wilko has been out of his depth every game this season, much as I like his commitment to the cause. Absolutely wrong. What a surprise, the scapegoating begins with the youth team graduate. Only at Stoke. He's no Cafu, and he makes his share of mistakes, but our troubles lie much, much deeper than Wilko.

Wilko is one of the fastest players in our team. Plus, did you not see his goalline clearance? Balanced performance

Sorry guys. Wilko was at fault for the second goal at Bolton, the winning goal at Boro. His sending off cost us against ManU. He lost his man at Chelsea. He was all over the place tonight.
He is as much out of his depth as Cresswell. Just because he is committed doesn't mean he is good enough. Don't you remember closing your eyes everytime he had the ball last season, wondering where the next misplaced pass was going.
He is not a legend. He is a decent lad, doing his best, but not good enough unfortunately, in this division.

Spot on March4. Nearly cost us v Liverpool by needlessly hacking down Babel too. I'm afraid his catalogue of horrors is all pointing to one thing... effort alone isn't enough in the Prem.

Try to some up his contribution without using the word commitment.
Theres no pace, positional play, composure, reading of the game, distribution. The first thing a good full back does well is defend; he didnt do it last season and obviously hasn't done it this

well thats a load of bollocks. Absolute bollocks! (Not from Trend) Absoute fact! listen 110% full of passion and commitment yes i agree but he's not good enough end of niether is Cresswell or Griffin, tho Griff has had some good games this season. Get real and stop Pulis Bumming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually think TP needs to sort the full backs out on these bigger pitches. Because they do play narrow which is fine on our postage stamp but on a big pitch it just gives a winger room. Look at Lennon and Bentley tonight. Both had acres of space on either flank. Why? Because the full backs were narrow.

However I will say this he certainly isn't lacking commitment, he does run about a bit but he just gets caught out - He'll learn that over time.
Griffin made a big difference because Lennon swapped sides, Griff had him in his pocket.

I wouldn't say Griff had him in his pocket. We just pressured a bit more in the second half and showed more commitment. And Shawcross made amends for his wankness in the first half by cleaning up everyone elses mess including Griff.
