I honestly believe that we can win this game, spurs are powder puff at the moment, especially in the air(except dawson). I know it won't look pretty but I think we should be even more physical than we usually are and really get at them and get stuck in.
Their full backs are dodgy, neither Corluka or Bale want to defend, and I pray that Zokora plays because I don't know what he actually contributes.
This game is made for Etherington, possibly Lawrence and especially Beattie.
Also they are not a massive club which they think they are, and their arrogance about playing 'the tottenham way' really racks me off. If we get in front their fans will be on their backs and their players already look frightened playing at the minute.
Plus the fact that us, the best supporters in the land will be right behind the lads, we can get three points.
GO'AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRNNNNNN STOKE!

We can win this game.
But we probably won't.
Don't forget we are playing away. Two banks of four, long balls to Fuller, break away, soak up loads of pressure etc etc

I know what your saying but they look so lacking in confidence and more importantly so lacking in the ability to dig in and make tackles and headers etc, i believe we are everything that they don't like playing against.

this is the 1st time this season that we will be facing a team that we have already beat. i recon that will give the boys a bit of confidence. do the double on 'em stoke!

Fair comment and I kind of agree with you.
We just don't seem to have the desire to move away from our defensive formation though. Don't forget you need to attack to score.
If we get anything it will probably be a draw.
I have said it before, I don't see us winning away this season. We are just too defensive.

Bring it on is what I say, I have been looking forward to this game since the fixtures came out. Never been to the Lane, heard so much about it and I honestly think we have such a chance of getting a result. Come on Stoke

Yes indeed. I have this down for 3 points. Fuck of yids Gotta agree Swampy. It`s there for the taking.Their defence is lacking confidence(especially Gomez),midfield is light-weight,and if Faye takes care of Defoe,it`s 3 points in the bag and a 1st away win

I think we're being a bit optimistic here. We have an awful record at WHL - one wine in 35 attempts www.stokecity-mad.co.uk/footydb/loadhed.aspOur form and the way we play doesn't lend us much confidence that we can get something. If we can somehow get a point, that'll be a result for me.

CANT BELIEVE THIS.
WHL has been a jinx ground like west brom is with stoke city. They will attack us and i can see us defending in depth and give away a penalty. If the ref is kind and sends 2 totenham players off,we have a chance,if we defend in depth we will have to be very lucky to get 1 point. The home match v man city is the important one,so dont draw both matches TP,win at least one.

btw
we have to get some possession,25% play is not enough,as this means we have approx 22 mins to win the game

God I hope we win...still will be a tough game but I think if we play like we did v Chelsea (obviously we'll see more of the ball going forward this time) then we have every chance of picking up 3 points. I'm pretty sure half of them wont fancy it after the Brit match....the big thing for me, and why I think we'll win is because we'll have Fuller back! Fuller and Beattie to start for me and we could pull this off!
Such a massive game!!!!

Team for me if everyones fit... Sorro Griff Higgy Faye Ryan Liam Rory Whelan Ethers Beattie Fuller We've got to start playing our strongest XI and I believe that to be it. 2-0 to Stoke (Beattie and Fuller) (Thought I'd better put it on here Mark )

I think Griff has really struggled away from the Brit, in fact he's been a liability, I'd go with Wilko at Spurs.
Lawrence wont be fit enough to start, so for me Rory starts there.
Amdy's been great at breaking up play at both home and away recently ... the only decision in midfield for me would be between Whelan and Pugh, there's not a lot in it for me, but I'd probably just give Pugh the nod, due to his performance at Stamford Bridge.
Fuller and Beattie have to start up front for me.
If Higgy is still injured then the best I could hope for on Tuesday would be:
Wilko------Shawcross-----Faye-----Shorey
Rory--------Faye------Pugh------Etherington
-----------Fuller-----------Beattie---------

According to many on here you cant have good cup runs AND do well in the Prem...so presumably Spurs will be totaly knackered and 90 mins against Stoke would surely be too much for them...we shall see

If Pulis doesn't start with Fuller and Beattie he deserves the sack.
