Where will Beattie succeed where Kitson has failed.?
Are we agreed that Beattie is therefore an overall more accomplished and esteemed striker. Please don't assume that I don't rate Beattie , but I wouldn't like to see another Kitson scenario develop. Kitson cost almost double the money don't forget....? ???

He's got more experience in the top flight mumf and I think he is a bit more of a bruiser than Kitson is. I also like the fact that he's an old fashioned striker who will thump the ball if it drops and we haven't had a striker like that for a good while. I think they will both prosper with Liam and Etherington down the flanks though.

Neither Beattie or Kitson are 'chase it down the channels' type strikers.
I can only assume that TP sees us giving them some decent service with ME and LL on each wing.

Beatiie is a strong lad. He can compete in the air, works hard and is a goalscorer who enjoys physical challenges. He may not be quick, but i bet he's quicker than Kitson who runs like he's on a fooking treadmill!
Kitson is a poacher, i can't think of much else, and he's in the wrong team quite frankly, even "Up top" in his right position against Liverpool, he never looked comfortable.

Would it be too nasty to suggest 'better value for money'...
I think he will link up with Fuller much better and also create more chances for both of them...
I pretty excited by the news tbh.

Beattie is the type of striker who can make things happen ( I hope), whereas with Kitson....well f*** all happens

I'd think it's probably too early to say yet mumf.
We'll probably have a better idea in a few weeks or so.

I can vouch for mumf he is certainly no PHW. He is however a SHW H Fair play then. I'm just a bit defensive about OUR club at the moment. Beattie hasn't kicked a ball for us yet but there will be people who'll knock him if he doesn't score for a few games. I happen to think that Kitson hasn't 'failed' The lad just needs a bit of luck on his side.

He is an established (English) Premier striker who had the guts to drop a division to improve his standing. He has gone to the Championship and showed he is up for the fight, scored a lot of goals and proved me for one wrong, as I didn't think (although I'd always rated him) that he'd fancy it in the CCC. Really pleased with the prospect of him twatting the ball into the net on a regular basis.

The good thing about Beattie is that, whilst he can't expect as many goalscoring opportunities as he's been able to exploit in the Championship, he's in form and his confidence will be pretty high.

Spot on LDE mate, it is a long time since we signed a striker who was bang in form, 34 in 67 starts is very impressive. (Maybe Kenwynne Jones after his loan at the Wendies was the last one, bad example I know given what he did for us! )

who knows what the difference will be, we thought kitson was going be the saviour now its beattie. if youd have given me the choice at the start of the season i would have snapped your hand off for kitson, a proven prem striker. never rated beattie, but im hoping he shoves my thoughts down my throat with some goals.

Do you remember that bloke at football declaring that Carruthers was so fast that Steino wouldn't be able to keep up with him, and that one day he'd go on to captain England? I don't know where it all went wrong. Actually, I do - in the womb. ;D

Thing is though for a short while (well for a few days after THAT goal against Mansfield in the cup) I believed we had signed a superstar!
