Normally this is a good place to drink prior to the game with both sets of fans mixing in a good family enviroment, until yesterday. My friend and i had our daughters with us and were shocked when having only been in the place 10 minutes tables and drink flying and a stand off between Stoke and Liverpool fans. This then led to the police arriving to control the situation.(a section 27 could have been issued and i would have missed the game without doing anything wrong) I have travelled to many away games this season with no problems until we go to our own home games. On walking back to my car parked at the cricket club, we then find again Stoke and Liverpool fans fighting (Liverpool fans were in their car too)!! I will not be using the Power League again prior to the match and will not be parking at the cricket club in fear of safety for myself and daughter. When are these idiots and so called Stoke fans going to start being sensible ..... i fear that if this continues we will have the away cards reinstalled. Either go to the game sensible or not all!!

I was there when it started and it was started by the Stoke fans .... how do i know....they were wearing Stoke tops!! As for the away cards....all i was trying to say is that if there was continued problems with Stoke fans, whether it was home or away then the club may be forced to start the away card scheme again. I for one have an away card but hate the card scheme, that's all.

Well the reason for the conflict is clear. You say Liverpool fans were in cars, but they couldn't afford football tickets and cars when they're on the dole. They must have raided the car parks again. Those damn Scousers

Winge where will you park and drink next time?
Because in all honesty chap, you're no less likely to not run into somet similar where ever you choose to go.
We always park at the cricket club and often drink in the Power League and both places are about as safe as you're going to get.
It was unfortunate you ran into some mither yesterday, but that had more to do with the specific individuals that were involved rather than the locations that it happened in.

If Stoke fans started singing and generally acted like they owned the place - in a pub close to Anfield- do you think there might be some reaction from the locals?

BristolMick, i went to Anfield this season in my stoke colours and we had a great time in a pub near the ground. We sung songs and they sung songs too. After the match when walking back to the car they even shook our hands and wished us good luck. Some of our Stoke fans though decide to kick of and then punch people on the way back to the cars....i wished they would grow up. As for parking at the next home match i'll use the car park oposite the official car park and drink in the Harvester.

From what you have just said Winge, i'd say the scousers started it all, maybe they should have the ID cards not us.

Theres drinking together and having a chat, and theres singing and chanting as though they own the place. That will provoke any fans, not just Stokes.

They should make the power league home fans only - sorted!
The stoke fans should have out sang them, not throw beer at that them
Car parking is always a problem, maybe the Liverpool fans where steeling the stoke fans car and the stoke fans took exception to that?

If you want a place to park and drink and its nailed on safe go to the Bowls Club in Claud St, Heron Cross. £3 to park, cheap beer and cheap pies plus TV.
Never any trouble and hardly ever any away fans. Its a good 10 min walk to the ground though but less traffic problems getting away than you get down by the Power League.

Funky - if you have nothing constructive to say then keep it shut. I go like a lot of Stoke fans do - home and away games and you don't care if you lose fellow Stoke fans to mindless stupidness?

What have you said that is contructive? bring back away cards for trouble at a pub before a home game? you're the one blaming Stoke fans, then clearly say that Liverpool fans started singing, think it's you who needs to keep it shut my friend.

There were scousers in the cricket club and there was no bother that I saw.
Never had an issue parking at the cricket club or have I ever seen any trouble.
You should treat it as it was - an isolated incident. You could just as easily see worse trouble up hanley duck

It was reported on here and in the press after the Anfield game that a family of four (father, mother, teenage son and pre teen daughter) all wearing stoke tops, were attacked and took an uprovoked kicking by a bunch of scousers on their way back to their car. You seem to be gunning for Stokies here mate, but it can happen wherever you go. It's not right, but it does happen.

i agree with eveyones posts to this subject, but it sickens me to see this anywhere, even worse at a home game. We went to West Ham and it was brilliant and a nice atmosphere for all. Good banter in the pub b4 the game and no fear of your life when you are goin back to the car. Stoke fans should have retorted with a song in the power league and not there fists. They started it and it was too easy for Stoke so called fans to finish it with their fists. If it was the other way around and Liverpool fans started the fight then i would have felt the same, but the facts are it wasn't. All said, i hope we have a good end to the season and we all get behind the team and stay in the Prem....to you all enjoy the rest of hopefully a trouble free and first seaon in the Prem me ducks..

i was in the power leauge at the time standing by the bar the scousers started the siging very loudly to the stoke fans, the stoke fans sung deliah we got covered in beer thrown by the scousers and they turned the table over not stoke fans, 1 bouncer tried to calm them down they were the aggresers in the stand off not stoke fans then the old bill came in and removed the scousers if it was stoke fans at an away game they would have all had a section 27 sure of that.

When the Liverpool fans started singing "we are going to bounce in a minute" it was only a matter of time before there was trouble.
There should be well policed and well advertised away fan only pubs that would prevent this.
Blackburn away for example.
