So he can give the players a good kick up the arse an back to playing like Trojans. Come on Stoke let us get back to stalwart performances

I'd vote for that, I thought him doing the interviews after West Ham might have been a hint. For now at least Griff's lost too much credibility, whatever the rights and wrongs of that.

Nope, if Griff is losing the arm band, their is only one man for the job, he's harder than granite, more respected than Einstein, and his name is Abdoulaye

He is about as natural a captain we could wish for and did a cracking job last time around too.
I conna wait till next Saturday I am desperate to get right behind the lads again, even after today's balls up.

I thought Higgy was brilliant as skipper last time round, Don't see why he couldn't be again.
Well said sidders, at last some sanity, you've restored my faith in Stoke fans!!

Higgy hasnt been great lately so i wouldnt give him the armband. i'd give it ab faye or sorensen.
i think once we get a winger and 2 strikers in, we should look at getting a prem quality left back as competition for Higgy. Higgy's defending has been ok lately but his passing over the past couple of months has been nothing short of abysmal

I agree, make Higgy captain.
When he first came back, no chance of it. But now, he's shown his desire to the cause and he would be a far better choice than Griff. Let Abdy do his job at centre back, I don't feel he's the right man for captain.

There's also the question of Ab's voice...

Higgy would be a captain, but to kick them up the arse I don't think so. Danny Higginbotham stats say he would miss Won Tackles 10 Total passes 508 Accurate Passes 260 Accuracy of only 51,2% ( Tackles 12 Attempts created 9 Assists 2 Goals 1 Red Card 0 Yellow Card 2

Give it to the man that deserves, The one that has played consistently well giving 100% every game for the first half of the season .......Ab Faye. He rarely makes a mistake and has been by far our best signing this season. One or two of the others need to take a page out of his book.

I would rather Ab concentrate on what he does best than have to take responsibility as captain too. I just think Higgy has filled that role superbly before and would again. As I said before both are suitable for the role though. I would not give it to Thommo though I just think the captain needs to be an outfield player to make that difference.

my vote would go to higgy , although Abdoulaye is no doubt 2nd choice , griffin is not a leader and never has been !

There's also the question of Ab's voice... Mike Tyson had a dodgy voice but if he told me to jump i'd personally be jumping .... either would be great and more inspirational than Griff

Yep seems logical to me too
a captain in waiting and a talker on the pitch

Tbh, Griffin was never going to be a good selection of captain. I mean, it summed it up really when Fuller gave him a good old fashionned bitch slap in the chops...would he have done that if he respected Griff? I guess not tbh and would he have done it if it was Abdy, Sorensen or Higgy? Probably not... To be honest, my choice would go to either Sorensen, Ab. Faye or Higginbotham although i would prefer Abdy to remain as 2nd choice and just concentrate on his soild performances that he's been having all season. I'm not convinced by Griffin as a captain anyways im

I would have agreed with you 6weeks ago, but seeing Abby control the team in Griffs absence.
Abdy is a born leader, god knows he has put Ryan onto the right path. He squandered along Corty

I think faye wud be able to cope with captaincy. I don't like full backs as captains. I'm sure higgy was playing CB last time around

We definitely need a change in captaincy!

Ab Faye or Higgy. Either will do a damn sight better job than Griff. Perhaps the weight of captaincy is what's affecting his performances. Besides he contributed significantly to Fullergate and, as a result, should be stripped of the captaincy immediately.

Higginbotham? Captain? No thanks, average at left back and showed that he clearly dosnt give a toss about Stoke when he waltzed out for a second rate Prem club last time round.
There really is one man for the Job, and we all know thats Abdoulaye.

There really is one man for the Job, and we all know thats Abdoulaye. We know he is an average left back because he is a quality CB that is his position, yeah he walked out on the club last time round but he is here for the fight this time around. If you want to know who is responsible for playing a quality CB at left back then you know where to look
